The Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom and Chairman of the Traditional Council in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Azeez Oyemonla, has extended a warm invitation to all sons and daughters of Iganna—both at home and in the diaspora—to actively participate in the forthcoming Omo Aloba Fiesta, scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The annual cultural celebration, which has become a unifying event in the Iganna calendar, will take place at the Baptist Primary School Field, Oke-Afin, Iganna, and is being organized under the auspices of the Iganna Community Development Council (ICDC).
In a statement made available to acrossnigerianews.com, Oba Azeez described the Omo Aloba Fiesta as a rallying point for unity, heritage preservation, and cultural renaissance among the people of Iganna. He urged all indigenes to prioritize attendance and ensure full participation, emphasizing that the programme is not just an event, but a reaffirmation of shared identity and communal progress.
Oba Azeez stated that the Omo Aloba Fiesta is more than a celebration; it is a call to the people to rediscover the strength of their unity, the beauty of their culture, and the pride of their history. He noted that every son and daughter of Iganna, irrespective of social status, religion, or location, has a role to play in keeping their heritage alive, urging everyone to make attendance at this year’s event a priority.
According to the royal father, the 2025 edition of the Fiesta will feature the theme: “Reminiscence of Rich History and Socio-Cultural Heritage.” The theme, he said, was deliberately chosen to reflect on the past glories of the Iganna Kingdom and to project the community’s aspirations for a greater and more united future.
The Sabiganna noted that the event will serve as a forum for cultural exchange, communal reflection, and appreciation of the socio-political evolution of the Iganna Kingdom—one of the most historically significant communities in Oyo State. The fiesta will also provide an opportunity for local artisans, traditional groups, and youth organizations to showcase their talents and innovations.
Oba Azeez emphasized that modernity must not erase their identity, stressing that Iganna’s culture, language, and values are its greatest assets. He explained that the Omo Aloba Fiesta is a way of ensuring that future generations will remember and cherish what makes the people of Iganna unique.
Sources within the Iganna Community Development Council confirmed that the event will feature a variety of cultural displays, including traditional dances, masquerade performances, historical exhibitions, and award presentations to deserving indigenes who have contributed to the growth and development of the community.
Community leaders, government representatives, traditional rulers from neighboring towns, and prominent Iganna sons and daughters from across Nigeria and beyond are expected to grace the occasion.
The Sabiganna, while expressing optimism about the success of the event, also appealed to residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to support the fiesta in any way possible—through sponsorships, logistics, and active participation—to ensure a colorful and memorable celebration.
He concluded by urging everyone to come together in unity, describing the Omo Aloba Fiesta as a true celebration of heritage and a reminder that unity remains the greatest weapon for development.
The Omo Aloba Fiesta remains a testament to Iganna’s enduring commitment to cultural preservation, social cohesion, and community development—a legacy that the Sabiganna and his council continue to nurture with pride and vision.
