People of the society have been charged to identify and appreciate their source of origin thereby promoting family ties and upholding the cultural heritage of their fore fathers.
The admonition was part of the remark made by an Islamic scholar and prolific writer ,Prof. Sabitu Olagoke Ariyo of Safahudeen in Islam worldwide, while speaking with newsmen during a visit to his place of origin; Ile oye in Saki town.
Prof. Olagoke, who visited the ancient town with the aim of tracing his source, first paid a courtesy visit to the Okere of Saki land , Oba Khalid Olabisi Ayinla ado in his palace.
While explaining the purpose of his visit, Prof. Olagoke said he decided to trace his root back to saki land as reflected in the historical antecedent of his ancestors.
According to him, his great ancestors of 17th century called Ogunelu of ile oye okere ado migrated from saki in 1796 as a warrior to Ejigbo to Otamako and later to Ibadan.
He stressed that his quest to trace his origin has made him able to connect with his family lineage at Ejigbo and Otamako and has magnanimously contribute his quota to the development of the town.
He therefore called for the support of Oba Khalid Olabisi towards accomplishing his set objectives.
Prof.Olagoke also assured Saki Indigenes of his readiness to contribute to the development of the town.
In his response, Oba Dr Khalid Olabisi Ayinla ado eulogized Prof Olagoke for his desire and eagerness towards tracing his origin.
The monarch also commended him for his books on family and society which will serve as a means of documenting vital information and historical evidence for future generations.
Prof Olagoke, the Mogaji agba Are alasa of Ibadan land who was well received by the trio of Mogaji ile oye idile okere ado Alhaji Sulaimon Tijanni Abiola, family secretary Mr Ismail Adedokun and a family member Abdul akeem Busari all went down on memory lane tracing historical facts that centered on their ancestors Ogunelu,Lapami oloko obi,Kintoyii ajoogun for better understanding of their family history.
Prof Olagoke while speaking with newsmen shortly after deliberation,admonished the populace to prioritize family ties, identify their roots, develop it and play a positive role in the growth and development of humanity.
He said he would soon come up with a book titled, the bloodline to shed more light on his lineage.
The Islamic scholar, warned that whoever forgets his source or bloodline and his origin awaits the wrath of his ancestors and God.
