— Prince Niran Adeyoju, SDM, president of the Providence Coalition, a socio-political group in Oyo state has expressed profound sorrow following the demise of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a statement issued by the coalition publicity secretary, Elder David Oluokun, Prince Adeyoju described the monarch’s passing as a national loss and paid tribute to his lifelong commitment to unity, development, and peaceful leadership.
The Olubadan, who ascended the throne one year ago and celebrated his 90th birthday two days ago, was widely respected for promoting culture, infrastructural renewal, and harmony in Ibadan.
“His demise has created a void that will be deeply felt across Ibadanland,” said Adeyoju.
“He was a true custodian of our cultural heritage and a catalyst for social cohesion and progress.”
Adeyoju highlighted the Olubadan’s role in championing grassroots development, citing his support for traditional institutions.
“He took the mantle of traditional leadership beyond ceremonial functions—he advanced tangible programs that raised living standards for the common people of Ibadan.”
In his statement, the Providence Coalition president called on political and community leaders to emulate the late monarch’s legacy.
Prince Adeyoju offered condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council, the royal family, and citizens of Oyo State.
He prayed for solace and resilience for all residents during this period of mourning.
