Oyo North Senatorial Leader of Shina Peller Group, Alhaji Waheed Shittu Owonikoko has described passion which Hon. Shina Peller has for Oke-Ogun zone as main factor that precipitated his current participation in politics.
Peller, Iseyin-born Politician and Technocrat is a former member of the House of Representatives, who represented Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency between 2019-2023, and 2023 Accord Party’s Candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District.

The SPG Senatorial Leader said he had been on sabbatical leave for some times, while political fortunes and great benefits were not at the instance of Oke-Ogun Geopolitical zone.
He maintained that he had been in politics since second republic, while Alhaji Sheu Shagari of NPN was at the helms of affairs as the President of Nigeria.
Alhaji Owonikoko noted that he had held different offices across some notable political parties in the past, and those designated positions have shaped and broaden his horizon to be acknowledged as a politician.
He hinted that he stepped aside from active politics shortly after the conduct of the 1999 general elections, while Oke-Ogun zone was not politically favoured in all schemes of things.
The SPG Senatorial Leader, said his resuscitation of interest and reintegration into active politics was consequent upon the zeal, passion, love and commitment which Shina Peller has for the development and progress of the zone.
He maintained that Peller’s coming into politics and effective representation which he had while a member of the ninth National Assembly had no doubt motivated him to get back to the track.
Alhaji Owonikoko said he believed in Peller and he has all prerequisites and qualifications to vie for all elective positions in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
