Oyo North Senatorial Leader, Shina Peller Group(SPG) and notable Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Waheed Shittu Owonikoko said Hon. Shina Peller had not felt any disappointment as a result of loss encountered in the last 2023 general election.
It would be recalled that Hon. Shina Peller, a former member of the House of Representatives for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Oyo State was the Accord Party Candidate who lost to the incumbent Senator Fatai Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
Alhaji Shittu Owonikoko in a chat with acrossnigerianews.com disclosed that, the ex member of the Green Chamber has not felt any disappointment over the loss of last Oyo North Senatorial election, because it was a call to service but not enrichment of purse and parochial interest.
The SPG Senatorial Leader, who was once a Youth Leader, Oke-Ogun Youth Movement in 1980s added that Peller’s participation at the election was seen and acknowledged as a game of sportsmanship, but not do or die affairs to seek personal benefits to enrich himself and those around him.
Alhaji Shittu Owonikoko maintained that, Shina Peller remains a figure and noble son of the soil, who prioritises the growth, development and general progress of Oke-Ogun zone in all activities of his.
He said, if people had known, studied and understood that Peller’s readiness and eagerness to serve was at the instance of Oke-Ogun’s development, they wouldn’t have voted otherwise.
On his defection to Accord Party, Alhaji Owonikoko hinted that, Peller’s defection to the Accord Party was consequent upon alleged injustice, irregularities and unfairness in All Progressives Congress(APC).
Iseyin-born politician said, his kinsman was welcomed into the Accord Party and was offered the ticket for Oyo North Senatorial District, sequel to recognition of his qualities.
To ascertain this, he without any doubt hinted that Peller has qualities and other naturally inclined instincts to vie for both governorship and senatorial seats with assurance on perfect delivery.
Alhaji Owonikoko however reiterated that Peller is not desperate for political positions but passionately concerned about the elevation of the zone.
