Hon. Dele Adeola, Commodore Adedokun, Others Pledge Commitment
Okaka Stakeholders in Itesiwaju Local Government, Area of Oyo State have reiterated their commitment to resuscitation of moribund community’s edifices and projects.
Their position on abandoned projects was made known at the summit of Stakeholders’ Forum held on Saturday, 2nd December at Baptist Basic Day School, Okaka.
Hon. Dele Adeola, member Oyo State House of Assembly for Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency pledged to renovate part of Okaka General Hospital, which is in a deplorable condition.t
The Lawmaker said, he would ensure he accommodates the issue of General Hospital into the budget that Governor Seyi Makinde presents on Tuesday, 5th December.
Awaye-born Lawmaker reiterated his commitment to the greatness of Okaka Land as he continues to serve as the representative at Oyo State House of Assembly.
Air Commodore Edward Adedokun reiterated his commitment to the progress and development of Okakaland and its environs.
Adedokun, an indigene called other people of influence and affluence to see to the state of moribund state of general hospital, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology and other deplorable projects in the community.
According to a speech delivered by the convener, Chief Dr Ajibike Lateef, ” at a time, I went down on my memory lane and looked at various projects sited in our ancient town Okaka and observed that there is need to draw the attention of indigenes to reason together and fashion out ways of resuscitating three key projects in our town, in order to make them functional and achieve the purpose for which they were established”.
“Among those noble projects are the two Federal Colleges of Agriculture. Okaka Elders, Leaders and concerned indigenes need to visit the two projects and create a synergy with the provosts of the institutions to pave a way for meaningful intervention”.
He added, ” the current situation of the general hospital in Okaka is worrisome and except adequate and timely renovation is done, the lives of all medical practitioners and patients who make use of the facility are in danger”.
” This is why I decided to convey today’s meeting and invited philanthropists as well as well-meaning individuals to come to our aid. In addition to this, we are very hopeful that government will also intervene very soon”.
In an address delivered by the Chairman, Okaka Community, Rev. Adeosun Jeremiah Adebanjo, ” this year’s stakeholders’ meeting is focusing on how to unite our youths and elders together in order to develop ourselves as an individual and also to promote our town and bringing success to the generation”.
Adebanjo asked all sons and daughters of the ancient town to use their influence and affluence towards the greatness of the community.
Dr Isaac Ayodeji, Deputy Provost Academic, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moore Plantation Ibadan, pledged to ensure he continues to harp on complete resuscitation of the academic institution in Okaka.
Ayodeji who spoke on behalf of the Provost, Dr Owosinbo maintained that he would henceforth begin to have robust discussions with the provost and other members of management board, on the need for functionality of the institutions.
Olokaka of Okaka Land, HRM Oba Abdul Azeez Olatunji Ayoola Ogelende 1V made his address in form of question” what will you leave behind”.
Oba Ogelende 1V enjoined all sons and daughters of the ancient town of Okaka Land to give meaningful and notable contributions, towards the progress of the community.
He showered encomiums on the convener and organizers of Okaka Stakeholders’ forum for their initiative to come up with the laudable summit.
The monarch also lauded Air Commodore Edward Kolawole Adedokun, Member of Oyo State House of Assembly for Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency, Hon. Dele Adeola and others who contributed towards the feasibility of the summit.
The Convener, Dr Ajibike Lateef thanked all organizers for the Okaka Stakeholders’ Forum, Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Princess Azeezat Folashade Nurudeen, Hon. Dele Adeola, Air Commodore Edward Adedokun, Dr Isaac Ayodeji and others who made the programme laudable.
