The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has congratulated the General Manager of Pensioners FM, Dr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, on winning the Pacesetter Entertainment Recognition Award as Indigenous Newscaster of the Year (Male).
In a statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Akeem Abas, and the Secretary, Dayo Adu, the union described Dr. Tiamiyu’s recognition as well-deserved, noting that it reflected his professionalism, dedication, and consistency in promoting indigenous language broadcasting.
The NUJ leadership commended Dr. Tiamiyu for his outstanding contributions to media development in Oyo State, particularly his commitment to delivering credible news content and sustaining high ethical standards in the broadcast industry.
According to the statement, the award further underscores the importance of indigenous language journalism in preserving culture and enhancing public understanding of news and socio-political issues.
The Council noted that Tiamiyu’s work continues to inspire young broadcasters and strengthen the relevance of mother-tongue communication.
