Oyo Lawmaker, Anthony Ogunsola Urges Governor Makinde on Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Security for Iwajowa, Kajola Axes
During the “Presentation of State of the State Address by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde on Friday, 20th June, Hon. Anthony Oladejo Ogunsola, representing Iwajowa State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, made a fervent appeal to the Governor, highlighting critical needs in his constituency and beyond, spanning infrastructure, healthcare, agricultural development, and security.

Hon. Ogunsola’s address underscored several key projects he urged the Governor to prioritize. These include the immediate rehabilitation of the 6-kilometer Okeho-Ilero road, as well as the comprehensive reconstruction of the Alaga-Otu-Ilero-Iganna-Iwere-Ile-Ayetotoro Ile-Ilaji Ile roads, emphasizing their importance for connectivity and economic activity within the region.
A significant portion of his appeal focused on the completion of the Ijio-Ayegun Wasinmi road, specifically requesting that the remaining 12-kilometer stretch be tarred.
He acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the Governor’s previous intervention in tarring a 6-kilometer section from Idiko-Ile to Ijio, a project he noted had already brought considerable relief to the area.
In a bid to boost agricultural productivity and rural development, Hon. Ogunsola passionately advocated for the establishment of a farm settlement in Iwajowa Local Government Area, drawing parallels to the successful models at Fasola in Oyo and Eruwa in Ibarapa. This, he argued, would create jobs, enhance food security, and stimulate the local economy.
Furthermore, the lawmaker called for the implementation of a “Light Up Solar Project” across various communities in Iwajowa, aiming to improve security, extend business hours, and enhance the quality of life for residents through reliable power supply.
Healthcare infrastructure also featured prominently in his appeal. Hon. Ogunsola urged the resuscitation of the General Hospital in Iwere-Ile and, crucially, the permanent stationing of a resident doctor at the facility to ensure consistent and accessible medical care for the community.
On the critical issue of security, Hon. Ogunsola commended Governor Makinde’s efforts in improving the security landscape across the state. However, he raised concerns regarding the recent disengagement of local vigilantes employed by the state, who he asserted had been “tremendously assisting other security agencies.” He appealed directly to the Governor to reinstate these vigilantes and consider employing more to bolster the existing security architecture.
“On behalf of the good people of Iwajowa State Constituency,” Hon. Ogunsola stated, “I appreciate His Excellency for the 6km tarred road from Idiko-Ile to Ijio and passionately appeal that he help us complete the remaining 12km from Ijio to Ayegun Wasinmi.” He further reiterated the importance of the vigilante groups, stating, “Please Mr Governor, return them and employ more in addition.”
The statement was made available to acrossnigerianews.com, underscoring the urgency and importance of the issues raised by the legislator on behalf of his constituents. Residents of Iwajowa State Constituency will now keenly await the Governor’s response to these pressing appeals.
