The Honourable Member representing Iwajowa State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Ogunsola, has firmly dismissed circulating rumours of his planned defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reaffirming his unshakable loyalty to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde.
The lawmaker broke his silence on the matter in a statement issued by the Ogunsola Media Team on Sunday, moving swiftly to address the growing speculation and quell any concerns within the party and his constituency.
Ogunsola described the rumours as entirely unfounded, attributing them to the handiwork of political detractors. He asserted that the false claims were a tactical manoeuvre designed to sow discord and cause disaffection within the ranks of the state’s ruling party.
He further reinforced his position, stating, “My political allegiance is firmly with the Peoples Democratic Party and our visionary leader, Governor Seyi Makinde.”
In his defence, Ogunsola expressed his full support for Governor Makinde’s administration, specifically praising its transformative Omituntun 2.0 agenda. He highlighted the government’s significant strides in infrastructure, education, and security, noting that these developments are positively impacting the lives of the people in Iwajowa and across Oyo State.
Concluding his statement, Ogunsola urged his constituents, party faithful, and the general public to completely disregard the defection speculation. He assured them of his continued dedication to delivering effective representation and his total loyalty to Governor Makinde, emphasising their shared commitment to moving Oyo State forward.
