Oyo Govt Sets to Present Staff of Office to Oba Ashiru Olalere as New Onilua of Ilua Land
The Oyo State Government, under the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, is set to officially present the Staff of Office to His Royal Highness, Oba Ashiru Oyebisi Olalere, as the new Onilua of Ilua Land, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The historic and epoch-making ceremony is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 22nd January, 2026, by 10:00am, at the Central Market Square, Ilua, marking a significant milestone in the traditional and administrative history of the ancient town.
The event is expected to attract top government functionaries of the Oyo State Government, senior officials of Kajola Local Government, political leaders across party lines, members of the Council of Obas and Chiefs, as well as eminent sons and daughters of Ilua Land, who will gather to witness the formal coronation and installation of their monarch.
Findings revealed that the atmosphere in Ilua remains calm and peaceful, as residents and indigenes are in high spirits and full readiness to accord a warm and befitting reception to dignitaries and guests from far and near.
It would be recalled that the appointment of Oba Ashiru Oyebisi Olalere as the new Onilua of Ilua Land was officially ratified by the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, following the issuance of an official letter dated 31st December, 2025, which authenticated his emergence in accordance with established traditional and legal procedures.
The presentation of the Staff of Office by the state government is expected to usher in a new era of unity, peace, and accelerated development for Ilua Land, as the revered monarch assumes full traditional authority to steer the affairs of the community.
