The ancient town of Ilero in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State was busy with ceremony as the Elero, HRM Oba Wasiu Oyedele Saka Olokolonigi II installed Chief Rasheed Jawesola as Baale Paje, Gbokoyi Area of Ileroland.
The glamorous event which occurred on Friday, November 17th at Elero Palace, Ilero had in attendance of the Elero, some Oke-Ogun monarchs, Ilero Council of Chiefs, Jawesola’s families, executives of Irepodun Omo Ilero, Chief Imam of Ileroland, other religious clerics, well wishers and host of others.
While speaking on purpose of gathering, Oba Oyedele Saka said the installation of Jawesola as Baale Paje was to ensure extension of the ancient town to the area in order to feel sense of belonging.
The monarch added that the axis was a large area of land which requires installation of a capable hand to head the place and defend it against external aggressors.
Elero asked people residing in the axis to cooperate, support and embrace his leadership in order to make the purpose of installation fruitful.
Oba Oyedele Saka performed the royal’s ritual rites on Jawesola, presented him with certificate and offered royal blessing on him for the smooth and peaceful ascension to the new office.
Earlier, The Sobaloju of Ileroland and head of chiefs, High Chief Adeoye Bashiru revealed that, the purpose of installation was not aimed at generating fund but it was organised in line with customs and traditions of the land.
Chief enjoined Baale Paje to rise up to the new assignment that was entrusted to his care, praying God almighty to guide and guard him for efficient delivery.
In his key note address, Community Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bamigbade praise God almighty for making the date a feasible and fruitful one.
Bamigbade showered encomiums on Elero of Ileroland for his thought wise, firm collaboration of the council of chiefs and community leaders to have Baale Paje installed on that day.
Community Chairman, sought total support with the monarch and new executive members of Irepodun Omo Ilu Ilero in order to take the ancient town to enviable heights.
He prayed God almighty to provide them all with mercy, blessing, knowledge and natural instincts to paddle the administrative canoe of the community and its environs.
