The agitation for equitable power rotation in Oyo State gathered renewed momentum on Thursday, 20th November as Ẹgbẹ́ Àjọṣepọ̀ Fún Ìtẹsiwájú Gbogbo Wa held a high-powered sensitisation and rally programme across major parts of Iseyin, declaring unequivocally that the time has come for an Oke-Ogun indigene to emerge as Governor in the 2027 election.

The event, which attracted representatives from across the ten Local Government Areas of Oke-Ogun and the three in Ibarapa, began at Iseyin Roundabout and moved through Ojude-Oba, Isalu, Customs Junction, Oja-Agbe, before finally ended at the palace of the Aseyin of Iseyinland, HRM Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri Ajirotutu I.
Addressing newsmen at a press conference that followed the rally, the National Chairman of the group, Engr. Dauda Alade Olaifa, reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the 2027 governorship seat rotates to Oke-Ogun for the first time since the return of democratic governance in 1999.

Engr. Olaifa recalled that the group’s earlier sensitisation programme held on September 4, 2025, at the House of Chiefs in Ibadan had significantly strengthened the coalition for equity. He noted that subsequent historic developments — including the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, and the remarkable reception the association organised for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu — have further cemented the group’s unity of purpose and organisational capacity.
According to him, the present campaign is not driven by partisanship but by “fairness, justice, equality, equity and inclusion,” principles he said must guide the political architecture of a truly progressive Oyo State.
“For 21 out of the last 26 years, Ibadan has produced the Governor of Oyo State,” he stated. “While we honour this legacy, continued political exclusion of Oke-Ogun is no longer acceptable. The future of our democracy demands balanced power distribution. It is time for every zone — Oke-Ogun, Ibarapa, Oyo, Ogbomoso and Ibadan — to become true stakeholders.”
The group urged citizens across the state to embrace a new political consciousness by uniting behind any credible Oke-Ogun aspirant who emerges from any political party’s primary election. Engr. Olaifa described this approach as a “historic pathway to harmony, shared prosperity, and genuine development.”
Speakers from various communities echoed similar sentiments, emphasising the need for unity, cooperation and collective resolve within Oke-Ogun and its adjoining regions. They maintained that only a united front can break the long-standing political inertia that has kept the zone from achieving the state’s top leadership position.
Present at the event were the association’s National Secretary, Pastor Favour Adéwọyin; Public Relations Officer, Professor Jacob Babayemi; Mr. Oladejo Ajuwon; Professor Sifau Adenike; and several other senior members of the organisation.
The leadership of Ẹgbẹ́ Àjọṣepọ̀ Fún Ìtẹsiwájú Gbogbo Wa expressed profound gratitude to traditional rulers, security agencies and the media for their support. They appealed to journalists to widely circulate the message so that the call for justice, balanced representation and political renewal resonates across the state.
Engr. Olaifa concluded with a resounding call for unity:
“Let us stand firm, united and unshakeable in the pursuit of a fairer Oyo State. The time for Oke-Ogun is now.”
