It is no more news that Hon. Olaide Musliu Akinremi popularly known as ‘Jagaban’ had gone on a journey of no return but his landmark feats, achievements and bequeathed legacy are still speaking after his painful transition to the great beyond.
Late Hon. Akinremi Jagaban who was until his death a member of the Federal House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Science Research Institutions, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Oyo State.
The Federal Lawmaker said good bye to this sinful world on Wednesday, 10th July, 2024, while his sudden and tragic death turned countless people into sadness and mournful mood.
Great Jagaban was said to have died at the age of 51 years but encomiums, praises, and testimony which are pouring in, after his demise had truly triggered this write-up.
Acrossnigerianews.com learnt in its findings that the late Ibadan indigene was a man of ebullience, impeccable character, benevolence, calmness and personality with ethos of Omoluabi who was loved by his constituents without fault.
He was described as a typical example of a notable politician and experienced lawmaker who was serving his second term of four years, before he left to meet with his creator.
Late Akinremi Jagaban was adjudged as one of the strong voices in the green chamber, and no wonder why the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abass PhD suspended the plenary session and afterwards issued a press statement via his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi to mourn his exit.
His effective representation, sponsorship of bills/motions and legislative adherence to oversight functions had unequivocally and positively touched his constituents.
He was characterised as a patriotic and dedicated Nigerian whose representation with zeal, unwavering commitment to public service, and devotion to masses’ oriented programmes culminated in excellence and commendation.
While he was alive, he was truly described as a man who identified with the local artisans, youths, women, traders, social groups, the less privileged ones and entire constituents of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, whose welfares were prioritised via constant empowerments and other poverty alleviated programmes.
The death that struct late Hon. Olaide Musliu Akinremi Jagaban had thrown many into sadness and complete depression, because he was one-in-millions and notable philanthropist who put smiles on people’s faces and at large put foods on their tables.
A good man cannot be measured nor determined by his influence, spoken English, appearance and other qualities but by positive praises and beautiful smiles when his name is mentioned.
The positive reactions, tributes, encomiums and commendations which people regardless of political affiliations are showering on the late Icon had shown that he touched lives positively.
With the little he did before saying good bye, if he had known he would leave at that age, possibly he would have done more.
This tells us that nothing can be compared with goodness, benevolence, pure philanthropy and good intentions with fellow beings.
Death is certain and that is why, it is always good to do good and get prepared for the last day, that would come when it is ordained by God almighty.
May God almighty console Mrs Adama Akinremi, children, family members and at large be pleased with the soul of the deceased.
