When I saw the flyers for this Saturday’s, the 24th of May, 2025 edition of Isaac Brown’s ‘ Political Circuit ‘, I asked myself, why is it that some people think that the rest of us are fools.

For clarity, ‘ Political Circuit ‘ is a Radio program which runs on Saturdays between 10am to 12 noon on a very popular Radio station in Ibadan.
Isaac Brown, popularly known as ‘ the Mayor ‘ is the anchor of the program.
You will wonder why I picked a special interest on this particular edition of the program and why I think Isaac Brown is taken the public to be fools.
When the gentleman, Isaac, started the program some years ago, it was indeed a program you would not want to miss for whatever reasons.
The personality of the owner of the Radio station and I must say, to some extent, Isaac Brown himself, attracted respect from a large number of the public.
However, as time went by, just like a once popular on Air personality in this state, Isaac, in my opinion, lost the respect of the public when he got too much entangled with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state to the extent, that not only himself, but at least one or two of his panelists began to receive exotic cars from the Governor.
I have written severally to demand that Governor Makinde should clarify the sources of the funds with which he used to purchase the exotic cars for Brown and others in his league but the Governor has failed to come clean.
Isaac Brown is not alone in this receipt of questionable gifts from the Governor.
There is another on Air personality in this town. Infact, he is the Chairman of a particular Radio station.
That one has been alleged to have been awarded controversial contracts by Governor Makinde.
I can hear that the particular individual is presently nursing the ambition to succeed Governor Makinde. ( Oyo Npe O).
I am waiting patiently for him to declare the ambition and he will have questions to answer.
Back to Isaac Brown. He must think that all of us are fools like I said earlier and that we are not taking notes of his actions, inactions and comments about Governor Makinde and his Government for some time now.
In fact, this incident reminded me of a video of him boasting about his influence on Governor Makinde.
The video went viral shortly before the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Yorubas are very wise. They say that once the mouth eats, the eyes become shy. ( Bi enu ba je, oju a ti).
I started by saying that I saw the flyer for Isaac Brown’s program for today.
He listed some politicians who, in his views or should I say imaginations, felt are contenders for the position of the Governor of Oyo state in 2027 and add the caption: ” to whom the cap fits”.
Only the politically naive, or perhaps, someone who have information about the genuine reasons behind the premature action will be comfortable with Isaac Brown.
If you study the list very carefully, you will see that apart from Barr. Bayo Shittu, who had mentioned his intention to contest for the position of the Governor of Oyo state in 2027 during Radio interviews, none of the other listed ‘ Aspirants ‘ by Isaac has officially declared the intention to run.
Even, Barr. Shittu’s comments in passing can not be taken for an official declaration.
What is more, election is a process and only INEC is Constitutionally empowered to trigger the commencement of the election process.
In a short while, INEC will come out with the timetable for the 2027 general election.
The timetable will definitely include the time when interests could be made officially.
Why is Isaac Brown putting words into people’s mouths?
Why the rush? What is Isaac Brown’s interests that supercedes or outweighs the interest of the ordinary citizens of Oyo state?
The one who gifted him a car, Seyi Makinde himself said he would only unmask the candidate for his Party next year January. I think he should perhaps wait for him now.
I am also curious that those, whose supporters have been making so much fuss underground are conspicuously missing on the list while some very quiet individuals made the list.
A right thinking person would take the actions of Isaac Brown with a pinch of salt, most especially, when the interests of Governor Makinde is involved.
A very unfortunate incident happened in Oyo state during the week.
A young school boy was felled by a bullet fired by a policeman attached to the Oyo state Road Traffic Maintenance Agency, OYRTMA.
I think people would be more interested in such a discussion at this particular point in time or shouldn’t we all seek for justice for the poor boy?
The timing of Isaac Brown’s preview of ” gubernatorial candidates” he deliberately cooked up should be a good pointer to the fact that there is a hidden agenda behind the motive.
If he will take my advice, I think Isaac Brown shouldn’t worry himself to analyze any gubernatorial Aspirant for us.
We are not fools. We all know where his mind is and not many will trust him to be objective in his analysis.
When the time comes, the people of Oyo state knows what to look out for when they want to choose their Governor.
I am surprised that the gentleman is yet to come to terms with the fact that those who deceive women to have canal knowledge of them succeeds only once.
If I were Isaac Brown, I will also appeal to Governor Makinde to make public, with concrete evidence backing it, the source of the resources with which the car he gave me was drawn from.
Is it from the public or from his private purse?
Even at that, not many people would keep faith in him as a result of his association and conduct around the Governor.
Perception is key for a public figure. I will not be the one who will tell him how the majority of the public perceives him.
This premature preview of individuals who have not made their intentions known, officially to the public is bound to be received with suspicion and is dead on arrival.
With his efforts, I would rather advise that he joins the Media team for the Governor of Oyo state.
He will do excellently well in that position.
My simple and harmless advice though.
