Òkehò Depot Manager of Finecoat Paints, Wasiu Seriki, Congratulates Prof. Jacob Babayemi on Appointment as Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of FUNATO
The Depot Manager of Finecoat Paints in Òkehò, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mr. Raheem Wasiu Abiodun, popularly known as Seriki, has extended warm felicitations to Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi following his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Òkehò (FUNATO).

In a goodwill message made available to acrossnigerianews.com on Saturday, September 6, Seriki described Professor Babayemi’s appointment as a landmark development for Òkehò, Oke-Ogun, and indeed Oyo State at large. According to him, the choice of the seasoned academic and administrator to lead FUNATO is both a recognition of merit and a reassurance that the institution is starting on a solid foundation.
Seriki noted that Professor Babayemi’s vast experience in the academic community, coupled with his sterling record of service, positions him as the right man to steer the affairs of the university and actualize the vision behind its creation. He expressed confidence that under Babayemi’s leadership, FUNATO will grow into a world-class institution that will not only drive agricultural and technological advancement but also boost the economic and social development of Òkehò and surrounding communities.
“Professor Babayemi’s appointment is a blessing to Òkehò and Oke-Ogun as a whole. His leadership will bring quality education, research excellence, and immense opportunities for our youths. I believe FUNATO will soon become a pride of Nigeria in the comity of specialized universities,” Seriki said.
He further commended the Federal Government for siting the institution in Òkehò, stressing that the move has placed the town and Oke-Ogun on the national map of higher education. Seriki urged the people of the host community to give their full support to the Vice-Chancellor and his team to ensure the success of the university.
While praying for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for Professor Babayemi, Seriki reaffirmed his personal commitment and that of other well-meaning indigenes towards the growth and sustainability of FUNATO.
The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Òkehò, was recently approved by the Federal Government as one of the new specialized institutions aimed at strengthening agricultural education and research in Nigeria.
