In a show of unity and commitment to educational advancement, prominent royal fathers across Oke-Ogun land stormed the temporary site of the Federal University of Technology, Okeho (FUNATO) on Saturday, ahead of a crucial verification exercise by officials of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Federal Ministry of Education.
Leading the august delegation was the Onjo of Okeho land, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdRofiu Mustapha Osuolale Adeitan II, accompanied by the Onitede of Tede land, His Royal Highness, Oba Raufu Oladoyin Adebimpe Bamgbade Erunkeji II. They were joined by other traditional rulers from across the region in what has been described as a historic show of solidarity.
The royal presence not only boosted the morale of the Project Monitoring Committee but also reinforced the commitment of the Oke-Ogun traditional institution to the successful take-off of FUNATO—widely regarded as a transformative project that will reshape the educational and economic fortunes of the zone.
Speaking during the visit, the monarchs inspected ongoing arrangements and urged all stakeholders to remain steadfast as Oke-Ogun prepares to host the NUC and Ministry of Education officials, expected in Okeho on Sunday.
The verification and accreditation exercise marks a critical milestone in the establishment of FUNATO as one of Nigeria’s emerging centers of technological innovation and advancement.
