For some time now, the supporters of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola aka YAYI are very loud about the fact that the President has endorsed his candidature as the 2027 gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Ogun state.
Not bothered by the series of unhealthy controversies surrounding his identity vis-a-vis his records at school, names and whether the man is actually from Ogun state, his supporters are certain that the President has sanctioned the fact that YAYI must be the next Governor of Ogun state and it is sacrosanct.
We will address this concerns later.
A couple of days ago, a disturbing piece was released by one Prince Gbemisola Obadeyi who claimed to be a member of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign Committee and a strong supporter of Sen. YAYI
The misguided piece, titled: YAYI’S CANDIDATURE NOT NEGOTIABLE – THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE VS PARTY SUPREMACY was a direct attack on Progressives principles.
We will not waste time to repeat his daring and vulgar display of desperation and pomposity.

The unfortunate circumstances surrounding this unhealthy dropping of the names of the President, however is the fact that people will tend to believe that the story is true and if no one dispell such dangerously wicked rumors, the consequences will be grave.
When you see a water insect, dancing on the surface of the river, you will know that its drummer is hidden deep in the belly of the river.
Is the President actually Yayi’s drummer?
We hope not but a clarification is quickly necessary.
The general election in 2027 will certainly be a different ball game and the president can not afford a divided House anywhere within his home base in the South West.
A dangerous coalition of political forces have been formed against his reelection.
It will not bode well for him to allow desperate politicians to keep dropping his name in pursuit of inordinate desperate ambitions.
Interestingly but very sadly, supporters of YAYI went jubilating recently of his endorsement claiming that a prominent royal Father in Egba Land, who went to visit the president during the last Salah festivities said that the president told him emphatically, that YAYI is his choice gubernatorial candidate for Ogun state in 2027!
Can this be true ?
At this point with utmost respect, only Mr President can confirm or deny such unhealthy rumors.
As a result of this sad developments, people are beginning to think truly, that Mr President has an anointed candidate in Ogun state and that the anointed candidate is YAYI.
Unfortunately, the suspected anointed candidate has serious unresolved identity issues.
If President Tinubu have no interest in a particular candidate for Ogun state in 2027, the time to put the records straight is now as further delays might be extremely dangerous.
