Ogo Oluwa Baptist Church Isia Okeho Hosts Dignitaries as Kajola PDP Chairman, Moses Ojesanmi, Holds Thanksgiving Service
Ogo Oluwa First Baptist Church, Isia, Okeho, in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, was on Sunday filled to capacity as political office holders, party stalwarts, community leaders, clerics, family members and well-wishers converged to celebrate the newly elected Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government, Hon. Moses Ojesanmi, who held a special thanksgiving service to appreciate God and supporters for his emergence.

The colourful service, which was characterised by heartfelt songs of praise, prayers, and warm expressions of solidarity, became a rallying point for PDP leaders within Kajola LG and beyond. The event underscored not only Ojesanmi’s political journey but also the unity and collective commitment of party stakeholders toward strengthening the party’s internal cohesion.
Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Executive Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Hon. Akeem Mustapha (popularly known as Mugaty); the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Sammie Olanipekun; former Chairman of PDP in the council, Hon. Chief Johnson Ojebiyi; serving Supervisory Councillors and Ward Councillors. Others included one-time Vice Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Fasasi Raheem Ajibola; Hon. George Gbenga Adetunji (OGA); Hon. Aleem Oyinlola; PDP stalwarts across various wards; family members; youth groups; political associates; and friends of the celebrant.
Speaking during the service, Hon. Ojesanmi expressed profound gratitude to God for the journey that led to his emergence as party chairman. He acknowledged the unwavering support of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde; the Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Hon. Akeem Mustapha; Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji; Hon. Sammie Olanipekun; Hon. Aleem Oyinlola; Hon. Gbenga George; and Hon. Fasasi Raheem, describing their roles in his political growth as remarkable and unforgettable.
He further appreciated Chief Johnson Ojebiyi, whom he described as a leader who laid a solid foundation, as well as Dr. Lawal, elders of the party across the council, his family, in-laws, and numerous well-wishers.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Kajola Local Government, Hon. Akeem Mustapha, described Ojesanmi as a committed and resourceful political figure whose experience and humility will contribute significantly to the continued growth of the PDP in the council area and in Oyo State at large.
Mustapha, who thanked God for the smooth and peaceful transition of leadership within the party, urged stakeholders to rally behind the new chairman to ensure harmonious party administration. He also pledged personal support for the church and announced a donation in appreciation of their prayers and spiritual role in the community.
Former party chairman, Chief Johnson Ojebiyi, in his goodwill message, expressed satisfaction that the leadership baton had passed to a capable and trusted hand. He advised Ojesanmi to prioritize accessibility, tolerance and listening leadership so that all members, irrespective of influence or standing, can contribute meaningfully to the growth of the party.
Earlier in his sermon, the officiating minister, Reverend S.A. Oyebade, preached on the theme “You and I Can Effect Changes.” He reminded the congregation that transformation in society begins with personal responsibility and a willingness to act positively. The cleric emphasized that political leadership is a sacred responsibility and advised the newly inaugurated chairman to be a vessel of peace, fairness, and service to humanity.
The service also featured praise renditions, thanksgiving procession and uplifting hymns, while Deacon Oladoja explained the significance of the gathering, describing it as an act of gratitude and dedication to God.
The event drew to a close with prayers for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Hon. Moses Ojesanmi in his new role. The church auditorium and premises brimmed with celebration as dignitaries and residents interacted warmly, reinforcing the spirit of unity and shared commitment to the progress of Kajola Local Government.
