The eleven Councillors in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State have justified reasons that orchestrated their extension of heartfelt gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde, the council chairman, Alhaji Salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon, House Leader, Hon. Kehinde Aiyegboyin, other political functionaries, entire PDP leaders and others respectively.
Members of Kajola Legislative Arm in their exclusive interaction with the coalition of Kajola Media Organisations at their chamber in the Secretariat Complex showered encomiums on all top echelon stakeholders of PDP, for the privilege given to represent their respective wards.
In their separate remarks, Hon. Amusat Taofeek Adebare, the House Deputy Leader and Councillor representing Ward9, said they would all become ingrates provided they fail to show appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde, Alhaji Afolabi Borikansunwon, PDP leaders, other political functionaries and other concerned individuals.
Adebare said, emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde as the current executive Governor of Oyo State had unequivocally occasioned the possibility of their councillorship ambitions which they have pursued for so many years.
He added that, the support of PDP leaders across wards, the council chairman, house leader, party members and career officers had truly made their sojourn as the local legislative members achievable, efficient and effective.
On areas of achievements and other feats aiming to attain, the Councillor representing Ward5, Hon. Idowu Rasak Abiodun, disclosed that their tenure occasioned the feasibility of OPEN University in Kajola, rehabilitation of Ilua Court Hall, elevation of some Baálès to monarchs.
Abiodun added that the passage of some bills had caused the gradings of some roads, repair of malfunctioning boreholes, repair of electric poles and diversification to cashew plantation in order to increase the council’s Internal Generated Revenue(IGR).
Before the expiration of their tenure, he said they were looking up to possibility of the building of Kajola’s hostel at Iseyin campus of LAUTECH, construction of 5kms road in each ward and Dams’ rehabilitation among others.
Hon. Tajudeen Adediran, the councillor representing Ward2 Ilero, expressed his displeasure on why some chiefs in Ilero have not been paid their salaries since 2011.
Based on letters of protest received, he mentioned Jagun Ilero, Agoro Ilero and Iyalode Ilero as names of the affected chiefs who claimed that their salaries are not being paid, despite not dead nor replaced from their respective offices.
Having heard and received their letters, he said they had swung into action on why their salaries have not been paid since those years and what led to nonpayment of their salaries.
He said, he had every assurance that their salaries would be paid before the this month runs to an end, hinting that those who claimed their salaries still peg at old payment of 5 percent,despite Makinde’s announcement of 10 percent for the traditional rulers would be looked into.
Hon. Salam Onaolapo Mudathir, from Ward 11 Okeho, showed unalloyed appreciation to the PDP constituents in 11 wards making Kajola Local Government, adding that their votes and firm support showed before, during and after election had no doubt guaranteed their legislative membership at the chamber of Kajola Local Government.
He asked them not to stop supporting them, as their beliefs in their candidatures and current representation had kept them moving to attain some notable feats as their councillors.
