Oyo State Chairman. Social Democratic Party(SDP), Hon. Michael Okunlade has commended the doggedness, fearlessness and firm stance of the party chairmanship and councillorship candidates over their participation at the just concluded local government election.
Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission(OYSIEC) had on Saturday, April 27, 2024 conducted the council poll across the 33 local council areas.

Igboho-born politician and ex member of Oyo State House of Assembly, maintained that their risk taken, fearlessness, financial strength and firm stance committed to the poll, are all worthy of commendation.
He added that, the party wouldn’t have been known, if not their courage, eagerness and readiness to participate at the poll.
Okunlade hinted that SDP acknowledged their sacrifices to the poll and however prayed that the money spent and general commitment would not go in vain.
On outcome of election, Okunlade reiterated his stance to outright rejection of the civic exercise, noting that election was not conducted but politically selected.
In another vein, he extended his heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola, 2023 Party Presidential Candidate, Prince Adebayo Adewale and Hon. Femi Olaniyi(AkA Ferrari) , whom he described as personalities of note who stand with the party without minding immediate gratifications.
He noted that SDP has clear notice of their contributions to the party, praying that their efforts would be rewarded in manifolds, in no distant future.
