The new Chief Imam of Tede land in Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State has emerged in person of Barrister Atilola Imran.
The emergence of Barrister Atilola Imran as the new Chief Imam of Tede was announced at the 8th day fidau prayer, organised in honour of the former chief imam of Tede land, late Alhaji Tijani Adedigba.
The unanimous decision was taken by the Alfas, Imams and the entire people of Tede land after due consultations.
The fidau prayer had in attendance,the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, ably represented by his deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion included the Okere of Saki; Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi , the Onjo of Okeho; Oba Mustapha Osuolale Adeitan and other traditional rulers as well as several Islamic scholars across oke ogun area and beyond.
Barrister Bayo Lawal, condolled the oke ogun league of Imams and Alfas, the people of Tede town and Oke Ogun at large on behalf of the state government over the demise of the late Islamic cleric.
He described the death of Baba Tijani as a monumental loss to the people of oke ogun and oyo state in general.
The deputy governor then admonished everyone to learn from the good deeds and exemplary life style of the deceased, which he described as worthy of emulation.
He also assured the people of Tede town of the support of the state government for the new chief imam.
In their separate chats with Oke-Ogun FM Reporter, Kaseem Jenrade, Senator Abdul Fatai Buhari,Hon Abisodun Wéré represented by Alhaji Sabitu Olofa,Hon Michael Akinade, Member Oyo State House of Assembly Hon Salmonu Ridwan Gbadamosi,Hon Joe Makanjuola Ayoola and Alhaji Abdul Raheem Oyedemi Musliudeen, all described the death of late Baba Tijani Adedigba as a collosal loss, saying the vacuum he left will be difficult to fill.
They all extolled the remarkable virtues of the late chief imam.
Late Tijani Adedigba passed on at the age of 110.
