LAUTECH Mourns Student’s Mysterious Death, Cooperates with Police Investigation
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, is working closely with the police to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of one of its students, Ridwan Oladipupo, a 300-level Agricultural Engineering student. Oladipupo was found dead off-campus, prompting an immediate investigation.
In a statement released by the university’s Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun, LAUTECH expressed profound sadness over the tragic loss and pledged its full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to ensure the truth is uncovered.

According to the statement, Ridwan Oladipupo reportedly left his off-campus hostel on Lawyer Ahmed Street, Ogbomoso, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He informed his roommates he was going to study but did not disclose his destination.
The grim discovery was made the following day, June 25, when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Owode Division contacted the Acting Dean of Student Affairs. A corpse had been found in front of Nurudeen Grammar School, along Under-G road in Ogbomoso. At the time, local residents and students were unable to identify the deceased. The police subsequently transported the body to the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital mortuary.
While LAUTECH operates as a non-residential university, it maintains a collaborative security network with relevant agencies. This network conducts nightly patrols and monitors student-dominated off-campus areas.
The university has stated it will refrain from making further comments to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing police investigation but assured the public of its commitment to uncovering the truth behind Ridwan Oladipupo’s death.
