The Supervisory Councillor for Land, Housing, and Survey in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State , Hon. Waliu Balogun, has lauded the Ayedero of Yorubaland and former House of Representatives member, Hon. (Dr.) Shina Peller, for organizing a prayer and public lecture in remembrance of his late father, Professor Moshood Abiola Peller. The event marked the 28th anniversary of the passing of the renowned magician.
In a press release personally signed and made available to the media, Hon. Balogun praised Hon. Peller’s annual initiative as a noble act of character and integrity.
The Councillor, who hails from Okeho, described the former parliamentarian as an exemplary son who consistently honours his father, widely regarded as Africa’s most famous magician.
“This act embarked upon by Hon. Shina Peller is truly in line with the saying of the holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” Balogun stated.
He further prayed for divine guidance and protection for Shina Peller and asked God to grant the late Professor Peller Aljanatul Fridaos, the highest level of paradise.
The remembrance event, which honoured the life of the late hero who lived from 1936 to 1997, took place on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Hon. (Dr.) Shina Peller’s residence in the Sawmill Area of Iseyin, Oyo State.
The gathering featured a moving lecture delivered by Sheikh Jamiu Ajadi Sanusi, popularly known as Amin Olohun.
The event highlights the enduring legacy of Professor Moshood Abiola Peller and the deep respect with which he is held by his family and the community, as evidenced by his son’s consistent efforts to keep his memory alive.
