The Supervisory Councillor for Land and Housing in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Waliu Balogun, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for honouring the late legendary magician, Alhaji Moshood Abiola Peller, with a posthumous award in recognition of his immense contributions to the development and global image of Oyo State.

Balogun described the gesture as a timely and well-deserved recognition of a cultural icon whose exploits placed Oyo State on the global map through entertainment, creativity and excellence.
The late Moshood Peller, an undisputed global icon in magic and entertainment, was among eminent personalities honoured by the Oyo State Government during the 50th anniversary of the creation of Oyo State, held on Tuesday, February 3.
In a statement made available to acrossnigerianews.com, the Supervisory Councillor expressed heartfelt appreciation to the state government for remembering the late magician, noting that the honour reflects the Governor’s commitment to celebrating excellence and preserving the legacy of great sons and daughters of the state.
According to Balogun, the posthumous award clearly demonstrates that the Makinde-led administration and the people of Oyo State have not forgotten the invaluable contributions of the late Moshood Peller during his lifetime.
“This singular act by Governor Seyi Makinde shows deep respect for history and appreciation for those who laboured to promote the image of Oyo State across the world,” Balogun said.
The Supervisory Councillor also congratulated the family of the late magician on the receipt of the prestigious award, describing it as a validation of the outstanding life and legacy of their patriarch.
He noted that the honour bestowed on the family further affirms that the late Moshood Peller lived a life of impact, making both his family and Oyo State proud while he was alive.
Balogun particularly showered encomiums on the Ayedero of Yorubaland and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Shina Peller, alongside other family members, for honouring the occasion by their presence.
He concluded by praying for continued elevation, greater honours and enduring success for the Peller family in all ramifications.
