- Appointed as South West Zonal Patron of Kautal Pulaaku Fulbe Association
The Jowuro of Oke-Ogun, Alhaji Abubakar Bonni, has called on Fulani residents across the Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State to ensure they register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He described political participation as a crucial civic duty that must be taken seriously by all eligible residents to avoid being disenfranchised.

Alhaji Bonni made the call on Sunday, 2nd November, 2025, while addressing Fulani community leaders and stakeholders drawn from various settlements across the Oke-Ogun axis during a strategic engagement held at his office in Khara Oluwole, Iseyin.
He emphasized that voter’s registration remains the gateway to participation in democratic governance, urging community heads to sensitize their members and ensure that every adult Fulani man and woman takes advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise.
The Jowuro appealed to the Oyo State Government to support the mobilisation efforts by providing the needed logistics and awareness campaigns that would aid the smooth registration of Fulani residents, especially those in remote settlements. He noted that active participation in elections empowers the people to have a voice in leadership and policy decisions affecting their welfare.
Alhaji Bonni also commended the Area Commander of Iseyin Police Area Command, ACP Akanle Rufus Adegoke, and the Aseyin of Iseyin, His Royal Majesty Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola, Adeyeri III, for their joint efforts in fostering peaceful coexistence between Fulani communities and their host towns. He lauded their proactive measures in curbing criminal activities, resolving disputes amicably, and ensuring stability across Oke-Ogun.

Describing the duo as exemplary leaders, the Jowuro encouraged Fulani residents to reciprocate the gesture by maintaining peace, respecting community laws, and sustaining harmonious relationships. He stressed that mutual respect and calm coexistence remain the foundation for development and social integration.
In a related development, Alhaji Abubakar Bonni has been appointed the South-West Zonal Patron of the Kautal Pulaaku Fulbe Association of Nigeria, a foremost socio-cultural body representing Fulani interests nationwide.
