A political support group working for the realisation of the political ambition of Engr Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS), Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group has described as false a report claiming that a couple of friend and relative of the Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts had advised the philanthropist to drop his political ambition.
A media outlet in Ibadan had on Wednesday reported that an anonymous friend and relative of Engr Sanusi advised the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadan land to drop his ambition of becoming the next Governor of Oyo State, arguing that it would jeopardize his business.
The Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group, in a press statement released in Ibadan on Thursday, however debunked the report, saying it is a political gimmick aimed at derailing efforts at garnering support for the gubernatorial aspiration of Engr Sanusi.
“We are in constant touch with Engr Sanusi as well as his friends and relatives. All have denied the statements credited to the anonymous friend and relative. Engr Sanusi’s friends and relatives are rather in support of his political ambition and have pledged to assist in the realisation of the aspiration”, Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group declared.
The group also faulted the claim in the false report that the political ambition of the Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts is unrealisable and could jeopardize his business.
“Contrary to the assertion in the fake report, Jagun Olubadan of Ibadan land has the goodwill to achieve his political desire. Engr Sanusi’s philanthropy and benevolence over the years had endeared him to the people of Oyo State who are looking forward to seeing him become the next Governor of the Pacesetter State.
“We, as a grassroot group, are very close to the people. We have done our researches and found out that Engr Sanusi had assisted a lot of people. His generosity and kindness had earned him the love and loyalty of so many people. We have the firm belief that the people of Oyo State are not ungrateful and will reciprocate his good works”, Oyo-Dotun Solidarity Group said.
It urged the people of Oyo State to disregard the fake news, which it said, originated from a faceless group who doesn’t have the interests of the people at heart.
The support group while assuring Engr Sanusi of success in his political aspiration, urged him not to be discouraged by enemies of progress who are desperate to implement selfish sinister agenda.
