
Hon. Segun Oyewole, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, has appealed to party members to disregard what he termed “unwarranted media abuses” allegedly perpetrated by certain “unscrupulous elements” within the party.
In a statement released to acrossnigerianews.com, Hon. Oyewole extended greetings to various religious communities within the local government, stating, “Permit me please to use this medium to say Ramadan Kareem to our Muslim faithful across the length and breadth of Itesiwaju local government and peace be unto our Christians in this time of Lenten period and my greetings to our traditionalist as well.”
He then addressed the core issue, urging members to “ignore the unwarranted media abuses engaged by some unscrupulous elements calling themselves leaders and members of our great party APC in Itesiwaju local government fanning embers of discord.”
Oyewole emphasized the unity within the Itesiwaju APC, highlighting the support of key figures, including “Late Ajiboye omodewu support group, Pa Itiade Odeyemi, Oyekola Olabiyi FCA (former house of representative member), Professor Adeolu Akande, Surveyor John Siyanmbola, Mr Dele Akinteye, Comrade Ojekunle Jimoh, Hon Adisa Adeniji, Barr Leke Oladeji, Hon Akin Adeyemo, Alh Uthman Adebanjo and host of others too numerous to mention.”
He detailed the party’s recent activities, stating, “It’s worth note to state here categorically that we start our monthly general meeting in Otu on 17th of August 2024 after the last general election and all has been peaceful with the party growing tremendously raising our hope of a better and excellent performance in future elections. The latest of it’s kind was held on 27th February 2025 at Ayo oluwa market okaka and it was peaceful as well though some complaints were raised but got settled before the meeting and things has been going on well with the party thereafter. For the avoidance of doubt, my line as the party chairman is always available for better understanding without fear or favour.”
Oyewole concluded his statement with a call for unity and cooperation, stating, “I hereby call on all and sundry to please eschew bitterness and let us work as one towards achieving a better tomorrow for our party in Itesiwaju and beyond. our commitment towards the renew agenda of our dear president remain resolute.”
He ended with the customary party salutations: “Long live APC Itesiwaju local government! Long live APC Oyo state!! Long live APC Nigeria!!!”
