The Majority Leader of the Saki West Legislative Arm and convener of the Hope Never Dies initiative, Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo, has awarded full academic scholarships to the three best students in Mathematics at Shaikh Nurudeen Memorial College, Saki, reiterating his commitment to strengthening educational excellence and human capital development in the community.

The gesture, announced during an academic prize-giving programme at the school, saw Adesope Yusuff (JSS 1), Tajudeen Aisha (JSS 2), and AbdulJelil Salaudeen (JSS 3) emerge as beneficiaries after distinguishing themselves as the top performers in Mathematics across their respective classes.

Hon. Adebayo said the scholarship scheme was designed to encourage academic competitiveness, support gifted learners and promote STEM education in Saki West. According to him, education remains the strongest catalyst for sustainable community development and the most effective path to breaking the cycle of poverty.

He explained that the Hope Never Dies initiative is anchored on the belief that no child’s future should be limited by socioeconomic obstacles, adding that the empowerment of brilliant minds must remain a shared responsibility between government, community leaders and educational institutions.

“Our vision is clear — to raise a generation of young people who are confident, innovative and capable of shaping the future,” the lawmaker said. “By rewarding excellence, we are not only celebrating these brilliant students but also inspiring hundreds of others to aspire higher.”

In his remarks, the Principal of Shaikh Nurudeen Memorial College, Mr. Moshood Yisau O., commended Hon. Adebayo for what he described as a “consistent and heartfelt commitment” to education in Saki West. He noted that the lawmaker’s interventions have made measurable impact on the academic community, especially in promoting learning, expanding access to educational resources and motivating students toward outstanding performance.

“We deeply appreciate Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo for his dedication to education and human capital development,” the principal said. “His contributions have strengthened our school’s academic culture and provided hope for students who aspire to greatness. He is not only investing in the students but in the future of our society.”

The Hope Never Dies initiative—launched by Hon. Adebayo as a grassroots development platform—has continued to gain recognition for its targeted empowerment programmes, scholarship awards, mentorship sessions, and support for vulnerable families in Saki West.

Community stakeholders describe the initiative as a model of participatory leadership, with many urging other political officeholders to emulate the lawmaker’s commitment to supporting education and youth development.

The scholarship recipients and their families expressed profound appreciation for the support, describing it as a life-changing opportunity that will ease financial burdens and enhance their academic focus. Teachers noted that the recognition of excellence would undoubtedly boost students’ interest in STEM subjects, especially Mathematics.

Hon. Adebayo reaffirmed that his office will continue to invest in programmes that strengthen learning, empower youths and promote community-driven development. He called on private individuals, alumni associations and corporate bodies to join hands in building a stronger educational ecosystem in Saki West.

“With every child we support, we move one step closer to the prosperous Saki West we envision,” he said.
