His Imperial Excellency, Makinde Was Badly Hit: The Hound Dogs Are On Rampage- Sola Abegunde

His Imperial Excellency, Makinde Was Badly Hit: The Hound Dogs Are On Rampage.

‘ Ibon ba eran nibi to daa’.

I was told that when a hunter shot a gun at a big game and the animal, after being hit, took to its heels, if the shot got the animal at a dangerous spot which would eventually occasion either death or disability, the hunters would begin celebration, knowing fully well that the speed of the game was a futile attempt. ( ijaporo).

I was excited yesterday seeing how Governor Seyi Makinde’s attack dogs were hitting their heads against each other in an a futile attempt to repackage the deflated ego of their paymaster.

For the first time, one of them went as far as sourcing my photograph from only God knows where and placed it beside Governor Makinde’s in his publication and I said wow! So, I’ve really become this popular?

I love that particular publication and I helped the indolent fellow to share his story far and wide.

Like I said yesterday, Governor Makinde’s attack dogs are not only predictable and easy to deal with, they also lack tactics.

One Busy body named Gbenga Akanni wrote a piece titled ‘ Sola Abegunde’s Obsession With Governor Makinde ‘ and the piece was published on page 11 of the Nigerian Tribune of yesterday, 1st of July, 2025.

My attention was invited to his story and immediately I ran through the piece and discovered that I required no special thinking to put the fellow in his place, I did a rejoinder.

Not long after that, the remaining attack dogs did what Yorubas call ” a tun ata lo si gbegiri ana”, (old wine in new skin).

They made an adjustment to the headline and inserted one word, ‘ Demonic ‘ to make the headline read: ‘ Sola Abegunde’s Demonic Obsession With Governor Makinde ‘.

Yet, the body of the story remained unchanged. Not one full stop was adjusted.

How lazy and tactless could you guys be?

Even if the Governor have become recklessly generous, giving out dollars, just as a scrotum gatherer alleged in a voice note, shouldn’t you at least work for the pay?

    Common! Think. Do something unique.

If Governor Makinde and his advisers saw through it, they would realize that they played into my hands and cheaply so.

Before he went to Eruwa, I orchestrated a piece that put him in a very tight corner.

After I wrote that piece, where I deliberately highlighted and mocked the series of failures and failed promises of the Governor in Eruwa , I saw that the contractor who is handling the Ido/Eruwa road from the Ido end and who has abandoned the site for over a year suddenly resurfaced.

From that day, I knew that Governor Makinde saw my story and was reacting to it even though, I knew, it was too late to change the situation.

What the Governor’s attack dogs do not know is that when you deal with someone like Governor Makinde, all you need to do to box him to a corner is to get into his head and imagine you were him.

The only option that was open to Governor Makinde was to avoid going to Eruwa but I knew that his ego won’t allow him to look like he surrendered to a mere rabble rouser like me.

That was how he got himself in the tight corner. So simple.

If we had played a game of Chess on the day, I had the Governor. No escape.

For Governor Makinde, Eruwa was a barren Land where he sowed nothing and I made sure he reaped dishonor.

What could he have said on the day other than to admit his failures, apologize and make more promises whether they would be kept or not?

So, when the Governor had to get to a level where he said if I don’t do this within so and so time, do not allow me enter Eruwa again, how did that sound?

    Does that smell like honor?

When Governor Makinde said he did not know that the state of the Ido/Eruwa road has worsened to the level it was on the day he went for the Coronation and that he felt bad about it despite the fact that his convoy got stuck on the same road just last year, how did the Governor sound?

    Did he not sound pitiable?

How many times has Governor Makinde promised to complete the road and failed?

I don’t know why these lazy guys would always expose the Governor’s flanks.

You saw someone saying things that even a primary school pupil would not say and you’re angry that we say what we saw?

When Governor Makinde said that the Ido/Eruwa road is different from the Iseyin/Ogbomosho road without telling us exactly what he meant, didn’t they hear him and if they did, is that logical?

All the inner roads within Eruwa are in shambles.

Governor Makinde has awarded them to contractors since five years ago and the contractors have abandoned the road sites, leaving the roads in very terrible state.

Did I not call the attention of the Governor to this unfortunate situation and what did he do about it?

Governor Makinde keeps saying that someone told him that once you make good roads to link the zones with the state capital then, you have conquered hunger and that he has done just that.

Now that he was forced to admit that he has not built a road to link Ibarapa zone with Ibadan in six years, shouldn’t he be ashamed?

Did he not admit that he knows the importance of the said road to his ‘ Agricultural revolution?’

A couple of days ago, it was reported that a Local Government in Oyo is begging around to raise funds for the renovation of its Secretariat Building.

How does that sound to the Data boys?

Is it that Tinubu did not release monthly Allocations for Local Governments in Oyo state?

Governor Makinde loves to give it to his opponents but he doesn’t have the shock absorber to take punches.

    That is very bad.

We were all here when he was leading the opposition against the late former Governor Ajimobi of blessed memory.

I recollect that he went as far as saying that the only thing Ajimobi did well was his sense of dressing well!

Yet, he retains the Oyo state Health Insurance Schemes of Ajimobi, the Oyo state ‘ Asiwaju ni wa’ anthem of Ajimobi is also retained.

I guess those are also part of Ajimobi’s dressing.

I also recollect how he went to court to stop Ajimobi from accessing a Loan that had been released to Government at the time.

When he was doing that, was he demonically obsessed with Ajimobi?

Or, was he Belzebub as Olanrewaju would wish to call me?

    Governor Makinde asked for it.

He said publicly that he appreciates the roles of an opposition in a Democracy.

He also asked the Press to hold him accountable.

That is how it should be.

In other words, Governor Makinde is saying that Gbenga Akanni and the likes of him are failures and idle sycophants because they are not demanding accountability from him as he would have wished and they portend dangers to Democracy.

Assuming the Governor doesn’t like what I am doing, I am sure he would have said so. Most especially when he went to Eruwa.

Before I forget, I am still waiting for answers to the questions I have been asking Governor Makinde all this while.

What is the justification for spending over 40 billion Naira to install street lights in Oyo state?

When exactly are we going to get the report of the inquiry into the failed Light Up Oyo project as promised by him?

What about the Agbowo Shopping Complex? Is that how Governor Makinde will leave the place?

When will he give us the outcome of the investigation he promised to carry out on the exercise books contract awarded to his friend, ‘ Oyo Npe O’?

What is the debts profile of Oyo state and the 33 Local Governments as at now?

Has monthly Allocations to States and Local Governments really tripled as President Tinubu said, if yes, how has that impacted on governance?

Why is it that Local Governments are becoming pauperized under the him despite Increased monthly Allocations?

Who is paying back the loan of 16 billion Naira with which garages were built? Is it the Local Governments or the PMS?

Is it true that the Governor is now gathering scrotums of politicians with dollars as an Ibadan socialite alleged?

These are valid questions the Governor must provide answers to and we will keep asking them whether the lickspittles like it or not.

    Ire o.
