The Onidiko of Idiko-ile, His Royal Majesty Oba Nicholas Oyelami Folaranmi, in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State, has declared the creation of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology Okeho (FUNATO) as the beginning of a fresh chapter for Oke-Ogun.

In light of this significant development, Oba Folaranmi conveyed his profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Fatai Buhari for their endorsement and sponsorship of the crucial legislation.
In a formal statement released to acrossnigerianews.com, the revered monarch commended President Tinubu’s decision, characterizing the approval as an extraordinary boon and prospect for the host community, the entirety of the Oke-Ogun region, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.
The Onidiko-ile stressed the vast potential of FUNATO, affirming that its establishment in Okeho will undoubtedly achieve its intended objectives. He highlighted that the university is poised to substantially enhance students’ practical and theoretical knowledge in both agricultural sciences and technological fields.

Moreover, he pointed to the anticipated acceleration of economic activities and overall advancement across the zone, attributing these advantages directly to the new institution.
“The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, will serve as a beacon of education and innovation,” remarked the Onidiko. “It will not only furnish our youth with essential competencies but also act as a catalyst for socio-economic transformation in Oke-Ogun.”
