Family members, friends, business partners and well-wishers home and abroad have showered accolades on Mr. Iyke Agwu, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Da-vric Group of Companies operating in Nigeria and Canada, recognising him as a “rare personality” and a “blessing to humanity” as he marks his 50th birthday.

This as the people gathered on Tuesday to celebrate him at The Jagz Hotel, Ibadan where they commended his immense contributions to the socio-economic landscape of Ibadan and Nigeria at large.

The event featured inspiring speeches from distinguished personalities, including celebrant’s siblings, business men and women, foundation leaders, government officials and people from all walks of life. Each speaker shared powerful insights on the contributions of Mr. Agwu to the growth and development of communities. The speeches underscored his zeal to empower aspiring business owners and help the less privileged.

“His commitment to uplifting the community through being an employer of labour and sustainable development is unparalleled. The impact of his effort goes beyond what one can quantify.

“Through his leadership at Da-vric Group of Companies, which has become a cornerstone in Ibadan, Agwu has not only created numerous job opportunities but also fostered transformative change that has rippled through the local economy”, one of the speakers said.

In her remarks, the celebrant’s sister, Prof. Angela Chukwu said, “I want to thank God for today as the heart cannot carry the weight of the words of our gratitude. My brother is a selfless person, not just to the family members but to everybody around him. He embodies selflessness!”

The people also noted Agwu’s philanthropic gestures through the foundation of Ojeri Nkporo Caring Hearts Foundation where he awards 100 million Naira to entrepreneurs every year with innovative business ideas for working capital for start-ups or expansion of existing businesses with prove of concept.

“Mr. Iyke Agwu is a man who has listening ears. He relates with the highs and the lows without categorising himself as a billionaire business mogul.

“His dedication to the advancement of Amasiri, Ebonyi state, Ibadanland and its people transcends mere business; it embodies a passionate devotion that has established him as a key figure in local governance and community upliftment.

“Through anecdotes of kindness and impactful initiatives, Iyke’s story is not just about building businesses; it’s about building a better world”, one of the celebrant’s friends stated.

As he celebrates the milestone, the people emphasised the importance of continuing his philanthropic work, urging other prosperous people to emulate his example and contribute meaningfully to the betterment of their birthplace.

While appreciating and reacting to encomiums from people, the celebrant thanked everyone present at the event for celebrating with him, promised to always help whenever and wherever he has the opportunity.

“It is not everybody that made it to 50. The fact that God preserved my life from birth till today that I clock 50, that is why I have called family members and friends to come thank God and celebrate with me.
“I know people are going through a lot outside there, and as human being, it is human of us to reach out to as many as we can. They don’t have to be our siblings or kindred, wherever we find ourselves and have the opportunity to help people, I always encourage people to do it and that is what I do. I don’t see myself as a philanthropist, I just see myself as someone that is always help when the need arises”, Mr. Agwu said.
