Former Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Hon. Jelili Adebare Oyinloye, has been honoured with a meritorious award of excellence by the Federation of Iwajowa Student Association (FISA).

The award, tagged “The Most Benevolent Leadership Award,” was presented at a landmark event organised by FISA, the umbrella body of Iwajowa students, on January 3 at Iwere-Ile, the headquarters of Iwajowa LG.
Hon. Oyinloye was celebrated as a selfless community leader whose simple and people-centric approach has endeared him to many.
Known as a “homeboy” and a trusted advocate for the people of Iwajowa and beyond, he played a significant role as the Campaign Coordinator for Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in 2019. He also served as a key mobilizer during the governor’s successful re-election campaign for Omituntun 2.0.

Oyinloye also served as the Director General for Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, a PDP candidate for the Oyo North Senatorial District in the last general election.
His dedication to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) earned him the position of Caretaker Chairman of Iwajowa LG from 2020 to 2021.
Subsequently, he was elected as Chairman of the local government, serving from May 29, 2021, to May 29, 2024, and leaving a legacy of impactful leadership.
Speaking after receiving the award in Iwere-Ile, Oyinloye praised FISA’s leadership and encouraged the student union to sustain their efforts in building people to strengthen the community.
“This award is dedicated to the Almighty Allah, the good people of Iwajowa Local Government, the student union of Iwajowa LG, and my entire family,” he said.

“With this award, only Allah can stop me from doing good. I will continue to make myself available to the people of Iwajowa for all things positive.”
The event further solidified Hon. Oyinloye’s reputation as a servant leader committed to the progress of his community.
