Eruwa Eid Violence: Samuel Adegbola, Makinde’s Appointed Puppet Has Been Acting True To Type.
Yorubas are not only rich in culture, they are equally deep in thoughts and visionary in speech.
They say when a community is flourishing in peace, that means the black sheep within such a Community are yet to mature into adulthood.

You can now imagine when persons of questionable roots have grown up to the extent that they are now the ones in control of the Leadership of a Community, is such a Community not in soup?
Yesterday, the 6th of June, 2025, Muslims , all over the world celebrated the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir by observing early morning Eid prayers and thereafter proceeded to feasting and merry making.
That was not the case in Eruwa, Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo state.
Around 10 am on the fateful day, I saw a very disturbing video of violence at the Eruwa Central Eid Ground, located at Sanngo area.
I watched the video several times to decide whether a sound that I heard was actually a gun shot and when I could not conclude on my own, I had to make some calls to get to the roots of exactly what happened.
In the cause of my investigation, I was able to confirm that there were actually gun shots fired, allegedly, by some thugs hired by one Alfa Muda Adedeji, who happened to be the one contesting the position of the Chief Imam of Eruwa with Alhaji Abdul Kareem Olore.
Let me give you a brief insight into the circumstances leading to yesterday’s unfortunate incident.
Eruwa is historically made up of four different Quarters.
Oke Oba, Anko, Isaba and Aborerin Quarters.
When the last Chief Imam passed away some years ago, Anko, Isaba and Aborerin Quarters presented Alhaji Abdul Kareem Olore as the rightful candidate, considering seniority and service but Oke Oba Quarter opposed the candidature of Olore and opted for Alfa Muda Adedeji who is from the Quarter.
The matter dragged for years and went to litigation but Alhaji Olore triumphed.
The matter was also taken before several Muslim Authorities and yet, Alhaji Olore was victorious and declared the rightful selected Chief Imam of Eruwa.
Sadly and unfortunately, Alfa Muda Adedeji and his backers would not yield.
You will agree with me that when you see the water insect dancing at the surface of the river, its drummer must be somewhere at the belly of the river.
Before this year’s Salah, it was reported that attempts were made to turban Alhaji Olore but Samuel Adebayo Adegbola stopped the arrangements.
You wonder who Samuel Adebayo Adegbola is?
Samuel Adebayo Adegbola is the clown, impostor that the contemnor, Seyi Makinde illegally installed as the Eleruwa of Eruwa against the judgments of the Oyo state High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme court of Nigeria.
The clown, Adegbola, had told the Muslim Community not to turban Alhaji Olore until he, Adegbola finished with his ‘ coronation ceremonies ‘!
That singular act was the root cause of yesterday’s unfortunate but avoidable violence.
Adegbola, like the few disgruntled elements opposed to the turbaning of Alhaji Olore are from Oke Oba Quarter of Eruwa.
I must say that Adegbola is not alone in this perfidy. Those who supported Seyi Makinde to put Adegbola on the throne of Eruwa are also in cahoots with him.
They and Adegbola are people of questionable roots to Eruwa Land and we can understand why they wouldn’t mind if the Community go up in flames.
Accidental Leaders, I call them.
They are the ones who also conspired with the Governor, Seyi Makinde to sell the Eruwa Farm Settlement and are on the verge of also selling away the Eruwa Cashew Plantation.
In 2021, this same wicked people connived with Governor Makinde to bring violence to Eruwa just because they wanted a Local Government Chairman who will be ready to play the necessary part in the sustenance of Adegbola as the Eleruwa of Eruwa despite the series of Court judgments against the fellow.
In the process, Mukaila Auxiliary was invited to Eruwa and in the end, a Local Government Chairman of their choice was installed on the blood of four innocent souls.
Someone asked me yesterday why these vampires do not have shame and I told him that he only needs to trace their personal history and he will understand why they have gone beyond redemption.
They are gluttons, half bakes and opportunists who accidentally found themselves in positions of power and authority.
I told the individual that those who call themselves Elders and go about in flowing Agbada gowns with Ill gotten wealth actually accorded the position to themselves.
No one appointed them. I told him how the most prominent of them was defeated by an Agatu man in an ordinary Delegate’s election some years ago.
I concluded by telling the person that they derived their seeming power from the recklessness and abuse of power by Seyi Makinde.
The most unfortunate part of this story is that Adegbola is a Christian but he will not let the Muslims select a Chief Imam of their choice.
As a Baptist that he claims he is, can he ask the Leadership of the Baptist Convention to stop the ordination of the Pastor of his Church?
Just a few weeks ago, the photographs of his only son was circulated online.
He was alleged to have duped someone of the sum of about #12,000,000.00. ( Twelve million Naira).
According to findings, the allegation is just one out of many.
I am not aware that the fellow in question has denied the allegation anywhere. Yet, the father is pressing on to be installed as Eleruwa for a second term, not being a political office holder who just won a second term in office.
What shamelessness could possibly surpass that?
These are the kind of people we are dealing with. The kind of people Seyi Makinde is empowering as the Leaders of our Community.
Before the defenders of the Governor would jump up and begin to spit on me, let me fill this gap.
You might think that the Community have Its share of the blame.
What exactly could we have done differently?
During the Local Government election of 2021, the Community overwhelmingly supported Deolu Masolanu of the Labor Party against the PDP candidate but Auxiliary came to town gun blazing and in the mayhem caused, four innocent lives were lost and in spite of that unfortunate murders, Governor Makinde still proceeded to swear in the candidate of the PDP as Chairman of Ibarapa East without an election.
Again, those who felt aggrieved by the selection of Adegbola in the first instance went up to the Supreme court and they were victorious all through and yet, Makinde illegally kept Adegbola on the throne.
The same Adegbola has now taken over from Makinde to frustrate the turbaning of an Imam who enjoys the support of the majority and the Court.
How do you blame the Community for that?
The Governor is the Chief security officer of Oyo state.
He is the one who illegally kept Adegbola on the throne and Adegbola is saying, like the Governor did in my own case, I will also do in the case of the Chief Imam of Eruwa.
What should the Community have done?
The 48 klm Ido/Eruwa Road is far from being completed.
The township Roads are in terrible state including the ones awarded to the simbling of the Speaker.
Infrastructures within the town has collapsed in such a way that I have never witnessed.
The dividends of Democracy Eruwa is enjoying from Makinde are violence and plunder.
I am always happy anytime I remember that History is one terrible bitch. It doesn’t forget.
We won’t forget this period in the History of Eruwa and we will not forget those who brought this unfortunate situation upon us.
‘ Laye Olugbon….’.
Sola Abegunde.
