Eid al-Adha: Oba Elero Extends Felicitations to Muslims, Urges Gov Makinde on Community Development, Roads’ Rehabilitation
As Muslims worldwide prepare to celebrate Eid al-Adha, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyedele Saka Olokolonigi, the Elero of Ilero in Iwa Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah within his community. The monarch’s message, conveyed in a personally signed release made available to acrossnigerianews.com, also encompassed greetings to all community leaders, members of the Traditional Council across Oke-Ogun, and all sons and daughters of Ilero, both at home and in the diaspora, ahead of the Friday, June 6th celebration.

Oba Oyedele Saka used the occasion to issue a heartfelt appeal to indigenes of the ancient town to return home and invest in local economic development. He offered strong assurances regarding the safety of lives and properties, stating that Ilero has become a secure environment, urging them to shed any fears concerning insecurity. This call for return and investment underscores the monarch’s vision for a prosperous and thriving community.
In his address, Oba Elero also took the opportunity to commend Governor Seyi Makinde on the occasion of his six-year anniversary in office. The monarch lauded Governor Makinde’s administration as remarkable and transformative, acknowledging its significant positive impact across the state. This commendation highlights the strong relationship between traditional institutions and the state government.
However, the Elero did not shy away from bringing critical community needs to the forefront. He made a passionate appeal to Governor Makinde to address the severely dilapidated roads within Ilero community and the crucial Ilero-Okeho and Otu-Ilero-Iganna roads. He expressed his firm belief that Governor Makinde would take action on these roads following the Eid al-Adha celebration, signaling his confidence in the Governor’s commitment to development.

Concluding his message, Oba Oyedele Saka urged the youth of the community to celebrate Eid al-Adha with moderation and to conduct themselves peacefully, in accordance with the law. This call for responsible celebration underscores the monarch’s commitment to maintaining peace and order within his domain, ensuring that the festivities are enjoyed in a harmonious atmosphere. The Elero’s comprehensive message serves as a testament to his dedication to the spiritual well-being, economic prosperity, and infrastructural development of Ilero and its surrounding areas.
