Oyo APC Peace Advocates have reaffirmed their commitments to a peaceful, free, fair and transparent process of selecting a candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-election.
The primary election holds today, Saturday, the 19th of July, 2025.
In a release jointly signed by its co-conveners, Chief Wale Ohu and Prince Niran Adeyoju, the Peace Advocates call on the Committee saddled with the responsibilities of conducting the primary, to be transparent in all their activities.
They said that the By-election for Ibadan North is a litmus test that Oyo APC can not afford to fail.
They acknowledged the sacrifice of the Candidates who have withdrawn from the race and also praised the determination of those who chose to stand for the primary, noting that such determination is a confirmation of the strength of the APC in Oyo state.
They however appeal to the contestants to approach the primary election with the spirit of a sportsman since only one of them would be victorious at the end of the day.
They acknowledged the efforts and dedication of Alhaji Olayide Moshood Abass, Oyo APC state Chairman, whom they praised for his integrity and commitment to a free, fair and transparent process.
They also commend the state secretary and other members of the Oyo state Executives of the APC for toeing the path of integrity as laid down by the state Chairman.
They promised to watch the process carefully with a view of ensuring that it is devoid of manipulations, while also urging party men to comport themselves peacefully throughout the process.
