Breaking: FUNATO Governing Council, Principal Officers Inaugurated
The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology (FUNATO), Okeho, Oke Ogun, Oyo State, has recorded a major milestone with the official inauguration of its Governing Council and principal officers.

The historic event took place at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, where key stakeholders, education administrators, and government officials gathered to witness the beginning of a new chapter for the institution.
During the ceremony, Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi was formally announced and inaugurated as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of FUNATO. His appointment marks a significant step in laying the foundation for academic excellence, innovation, and agricultural advancement in the Oke Ogun region and beyond.
The inauguration of the Governing Council and principal officers signifies the commencement of structured leadership, policy direction, and strategic planning for the young university. It also reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to quality tertiary education, particularly in specialized areas such as agriculture and technology, which are crucial to Nigeria’s economic growth.
