The All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator AbdulFatai Buhari (representing Oyo North Senatorial District), and Prof. Segun Gbadegesin (Asiwaju of Okeho land) for their roles in the ongoing Iseyin-Okeho and Okeho-Iganna roads construction project.
In a statement signed by APC Chairman Hon. Siyanbade Jacob and Secretary Hon. Shittu Tajudeen, the leaders praised President Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of the people, demonstrated by the road project. They noted that the road has been in a deplorable state for almost 30 years, causing immense difficulties for residents and cutting off communities from socio-political and economic activities.
The Iseyin-Okeho and Okeho-Iganna roads construction, including bridges, will significantly boost economic activities in Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government Areas, known for their substantial agricultural investments. Improved road infrastructure will facilitate agricultural produce transportation, promote trade, and reduce travel times for farmers and traders.
The party leaders highlighted that the project reflects the President’s inclusive development strategy, focusing on rural development and integrating rural areas into the broader economic framework. This will unlock the agricultural sector’s full potential and create sustainable development pathways for future generations.
The leaders expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his visionary leadership and dedication to the welfare of Kajola LGA residents. They predicted that the improved road infrastructure would attract further investments, making Kajola LGA a premier destination for business, investment, tourism, and quality living.
Hon. Shittu Tajudeen, the party’s scribe, appreciated Senator AbdulFatai Buhari for his contributions, saying the project will be remembered as a significant achievement during his tenure, alleviating residents’ suffering from terrible road conditions.
Hon. Isiaka Lekan Salami (Ladubu), a party chieftain and former APC Chairman of Kajola LGA, thanked the leaders for their vision, stating that the community will benefit from reduced travel times and stress due to the improved road network.
Hon. (Prince) Kolade Sunmonu, an Estate Consultant and Politician, appreciated the facilitators and described the people of Kajola LGA as law-abiding citizens. He added that the roads, when constructed, will enhance both human and vehicular movements, boost businesses, and save the community from the menace of erosion.
The road projects in the area, when completed, will improve transportation in the city, enhance drainage systems, and bring urban renewal to the grassroots. The roads are vital to our people and Okeogun, Oyo State, and Nigeria’s development, enhancing movement and goods transportation across Oyo State.
