Barrister Akeem Agbaje, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a 2027 Oyo State gubernatorial aspirant, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the entire Buhari family.

Former President Buhari, who passed away at the age of 82, served Nigeria as its democratically elected leader from 2015 to 2019 and again from 2019 to 2023. Prior to his democratic leadership, he also held the position of military Head of State from January 1984 to August 1985.
In a statement released to the press, Barrister Agbaje lauded the late President Buhari as a figure who dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria.
He acknowledged that while the news of his passing was unexpected, it signifies the close of a significant chapter marked by an unwavering commitment to national unity, discipline, and public stewardship.
“I extend my deepest condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the First Lady, Hajia Aisha Buhari, the entire Buhari family, and all associates of the former president,” Barrister Agbaje stated. “The late Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria with unwavering conviction, both in and out of uniform, leaving behind a legacy defined by discipline and patriotic ideals.”
He concluded his statement with a prayer for the departed leader: “May the Almighty Allah grant his family and associates the fortitude to bear this great loss, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”
