Loyal supporters of the Minister of Power, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, under the banner of Adelabu Ambassadors, have strongly criticized recent remarks made by Mogaji Wale Ladoja. Ladoja, during an appearance on the Lagelu FM program “BOSENLO” on April 19, 2025, allegedly described Adelabu as “stingy” and questioned his philanthropic credentials, sparking considerable backlash.

According to reports, Ladoja claimed that in past interactions, Adelabu was unwilling to pay for even a simple drink. He further asserted that any individual aspiring to govern Oyo State should possess a demonstrable history of philanthropy.
In response, Adelabu Ambassadors issued a statement expressing their profound disapproval of what they termed a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of the Minister of Power. The group argued that Ladoja’s accusations were baseless and ignored Adelabu’s well-documented acts of kindness and support for those in need. They suggested that Ladoja was acting at the behest of detractors seeking to undermine Adelabu’s standing.
The Adelabu Ambassadors further alluded to Ladoja’s alleged impropriety, suggesting he should refrain from public displays of insatiable desires, given his purported history of not even affording basic sustenance. They advised Ladoja to seek more appropriate channels to address any personal grievances he might have with the Minister.
Highlighting Adelabu’s commitment to the welfare of the people and economic development, the group emphasized his significant contributions to the local economy through his hospitality ventures, which they stated provide substantial employment opportunities for indigenes of Oyo State. They unequivocally declared Adelabu as the largest private employer in the state, emphasizing his focus on empowering individuals rather than engaging in extravagance.
The Adelabu Ambassadors also cautioned Ladoja against projecting his personal frustrations, referencing his reported removal as the head of his family by the late Olubadan of Ibadan and his alleged dismissal from the Odua Group’s Board, alongside past accusations of land grabbing.
In closing, the Adelabu Ambassadors affirmed Oloye Adebayo Adelabu’s “impeccable character, excellence, and proven track record,” noting his association with esteemed individuals.
