Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde will celebrate his 56 birthdate at Oyo Village of Fasola, declining his usual commemoration of his date of birth this year at Saki OYSADEP and Igbojaye residence of former Senator for Oyo North Senatorial District, Senator Hosea Ayoola known as ‘Alleluyyah’.
Unlike he did in the four years by celebrating his birthdate in Saki and proceeded to Alleluyyah’s residence in Igbojaye, Itesiwaju Local Government, Makinde, will celebrate this year in Oyo village of Fasola.
The event which holds in the premises of the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub, Oyo located on the Oyo-Iseyin expressway would take place on the night of 24th and morning of 25th December, 2023.

Not long ago, the Makinde administration reconstructed the Iseyin-Oyo expressway and breathed life into the Fasola Farms, now Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub, where his late friend and commissioner, Kehinde Ayoola, worked after graduation from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
Since 2019, Makinde had celebrated his birthdays inside the premises of the Oyo State Agricultural Development Project (OYSADEP).
This much was made known in the governor’s weekly newsletter.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leader who was named Abiodun because he was born on Christmas Day of 1967 wrote in the newsletter: ”As you may already know, December is my birth month. This year, I will be celebrating my birthday at the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub.”
“The month of December is generally a time for reflection as we make plans towards the new year. It is a time for me to reflect again on why I chose to get into politics. It has always been about serving humanity and moving as many people as possible in Oyo State from poverty into prosperity. This has remained a mantra for our administration since 2019 as we pursued people-centred policies and programmes.”
“True, sometimes we make plans, and they do not work out exactly as envisaged, but in general, we try to do what is right for our people and make amends where necessary to stick to this goal. 2024 presents another opportunity for us to use our budget to create economic stability for our people. As I have always maintained, handouts and palliatives are good, but sustainable development is far more important,” he added
