5 Years On: Barrister Akeem Agbaje Remembers Ajimobi’s Enduring Legacy in Oyo State
Barrister Akeem Agbaje, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a two-time gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on his remembrance anniversary.

In a somber statement released today, Barrister Agbaje, who is eyeing the Oyo State gubernatorial seat in 2027, described Senator Ajimobi as a true statesman and a father figure. He emphasized that Ajimobi’s wisdom, political acumen, and vision for governance are profoundly missed in both state and national political spheres.
“Senator Abiola Ajimobi was a remarkable leader whose legacies continue to speak for him,” Agbaje stated. “He was rightly described as the architect of modern Oyo State, as his tenure was marked by far-reaching socio-economic reforms and infrastructural development that transformed the state.”
Agbaje further highlighted the late governor’s significant contributions to public service, noting how Ajimobi leveraged his extensive experience from both the private sector and public governance to elevate the standard of administration in Oyo State.
“His impact on national development and on the progressive family cannot be overstated,” Agbaje asserted. “Senator Ajimobi was a leader of leaders, and his loss remains a deep void to many of us who looked up to him.”
Concluding his tribute, Barrister Agbaje extended his thoughts and prayers to Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, and the entire Ajimobi family, wishing them continued strength and fortitude to uphold the late governor’s enduring legacy.
“May Almighty Allah continue to grant our leader, Senator Abiola Ajimobi peaceful rest, and may He give his family the grace to carry forward the values he stood for,” he prayed.
