Two renowned technological outfits, ‘Vergold Digital Hub’ and ‘Cadlinks Systems’ flagged off ceremony of internship program of skill up digital skills training and business pitching.
The internship program of skill up project in digital skills of software development and product design took place on Friday, August 16th at opposite Galactic School, General Gas, Akobo Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo State.

In her welcome speech, Ms Adejumoke Ipadeola FCCA, CEO Vergold Digital Hub, said that the skill up project, was at the instance of product demo, business pitching and showcasing selected graduates of skill up digital skills training respectively.
While in a memory lane, ” in January 2024, we set out to train 700 Nigerian youths in digital skills through a project titled, ” Skill Up”, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education Innovation Grant Hub”.
” As at today, we have successfully trained 724 individuals, equipping them with competencies in software development and product design. We ran 2 cohorts: cohort 1, with 539 beneficiaries(283 females and 256 males including 2 persons living with disability and 4 nursing mothers), was held between January 17th and April 12th, 2024, and cohort 2, with 185 beneficiaries( 98 females and 87 males, including 1 person living with disability and 1 nursing mother), ran between April and June 28th, 2024″.

Ipadeola added that, they placed priority on training, certification, mentorship and internship as 4 components which were acknowledged as criteria for attainment of excellence on skill up digital skills training.
Mr. Tosin Orangun, MD Cadlinks Systems disclosed in his opening remarks that the program aimed at showcasing the exceptional outcomes of efforts, transforming knowledge into practical and impactful solutions, was not just a presentation of ideas but a testament to the power of ingenuity, teamwork, and dedication.
Also added that the event was a testament of the comprehensive vision of the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills(IDEAS project) sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education Innovation Grant Fund.
He showed gratitude to God almighty. having successfully trained 724 individuals and equipped them with the essential digital competencies to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.
Professor Ndem Ndiyo, Consultant of IDEAS Project, who spoke on behalf of Mrs Blessing Ogwu, National Coordinator, IDEAS Project said, ” IDEAS Project is about equipping the youths with the skills to succeed , therefore we need to work hand-in-hand to empower the youths, enhance their skills, and pave way for them to become leaders and positive contributors to their communities”.

Adding that the project is to improve skills acquisition in Nigeria using a comprehensive approach, address key aspects of the skills development delivery system, and however enjoined graduates to make use of the training for productive digital entrepreneurship.
Professor Kazeem Adebiyi, former Rector, the Polytechnic Ibadan justified the importance of academics whom he described instrumental to feasibility of the training, and however enjoined the graduates to make judicious use of the initiatives for positive impacts in the society.

Badmus Amarachi and Ridwan Ayinde who are graduates and team leads for Team Zeta and Team Alpha boasted of their confidence over designing of products which they described capable of addressing the challenges of cyber security and insecurity in the country.
The epoch making occasion had in attendance of the notable politicians, academics, business moguls, and public office holders among others.
