A 15-year-old female student from Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi Akoko, has been remanded by a Chief Magistrate in Ondo State, Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi, for allegedly stabbing her 17-year-old classmate, Habib Salau, to death.
The court has ordered her remand at the Ondo State Juvenile Home in Akure, pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). No plea was taken.
The student faces a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder, after allegedly stabbing Salau with a knife during a scuffle after school. Prosecutor Josephine Awana revealed that the altercation occurred on October 3, at 3:30 p.m. in Arigidi Akoko, where the defendant, along with another suspect still at large, conspired to commit the crime.
The case remains under investigation, with the defendant accused of stabbing Salau in the neck following an argument. The prosecutor cited that the charges contravene Sections 124 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
