Reactions and different opinions have continued to trail the comments of Governor Seyi Makinde against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led Government at the centre.
Gov. Seyi Makinde who was in Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government, Area of Oyo State on Thursday, 22nd February for the commissioning of Iseyin Central Mosque, renovated by the renowned Legal Luminary, Alhaji Ahmed Raji SAN, countered Akpabio’s statement on Federal Government’s disbursement of N30B each to states of the federation for food security to cushion the effects of current hardship.
Not only but Makinde also added that he needed to make clarification on FG’s earlier promise of N5B to Oyo State, which only N2B had been disbursed out of the said amount.
Makinde lamented that the statement credited to Akpabio as number three citizen was unverified piece of information, which should not be made by calibre of his type.
The Governor however debunked the alleged release of N30B to Oyo State for food security to cushion the effects of hardship and other associated challenges in the state.
In their separate reactions, Mr Adewale Mutiu who spoke with acrossnigerianews.com said, Governor should not have made such comment at that epoch making occasion.
He added that the Governor’s response at the commissioning of Central Mosque, was like a square peg in a round hole, hinting that he just transfered aggression to where he ought not to do.
Comrade Michael Idowu, a staunch supporter of All Progressives Congress(APC), said Makinde would not have made such vituperation, if he had been enjoying good rapport and cordiality with the Federal Government.
While in a memory lane, Idowu maintained that he wondered why things just went this way between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde, as both electorally assisted each other in the last 2023 general elections.
He lamented that the directives which Tinubu gave to notable figures of All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo State on acceptability of Makinde’s governorship candidature for second term led to woeful performance of the party at the last poll.
A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who spoke with acrossnigerianews.com on condition of anonymity said Makinde was now reaping the gains of anti party.
An anonymous Chieftain maintained that Makinde’s rapport with Tinubu before and during the last general elections, had orchestrated the loss of the three PDP senatorial candidates and many of the House of Representatives’ candidates at the polls.
He said, he and others were watching with keen interest to see when the season film would end.
