Former member of the House of
Representatives, for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Hon. Shina Peller said, development of Oke-Ogun in all ramifications orchestrated his interest in politics.
Iseyin-born politician and socialite who represented the Federal Constituency between 2019-2023 at the green chamber of the National Assembly, disclosed this during break of fast(IFTAR) which he organised in Iseyin for the executive members, Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oke-Ogun Federated Chapel.
In his exclusive interaction with the Pen Pushers, Peller maintained that his enthusiasm and interest in politics is no doubt geared towards the development and progress of the zone.
He lamented that, it becomes so disheartening and worrisome that the zone with ten(10) local governments, numerical strength of the habitants and expanded land across the zone, it could not boast of basic infrastructural facilities, standard schools, good roads and many others to make life worth living for the people.
Peller, the 2023 Accord Candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District, said despite presence of Suspended Iyake Lake at Ado-Awaye, Ikere Gorge Dam in Iseyin and many other mineral resources across the local governments making up the zone, it still remains the most marginalized and backward zone in Oyo State.
On factors precipitating the retrogression of the zone, Peller identified lack of unity, love, togetherness and cohesion as main bottlenecks that mitigate the progress and development of the zone.
He called on all indigenes of the zone to see coming together as one united family as an avenue that would orchestrate the progress of the zone.
He however charged News men operating in Oke-Ogun to work in tandem with ethical, legal limitations of their profession and at large use their different news platforms to make the zone attains greater heights.
