Security, Education, Farming, Youth Empowerment, and Road Network would be prioritised if elected at April 27th 2024, that is slated for local government’s election to be conducted by Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission(OYSIEC ).
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Candidate in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. Ajadi Waheed Abiodun made this assurance, while speaking with acrossnigerianews.com at the party’s general meeting held at LA Primary School, Olele Okeho.
Okeho-born politician and SDP Chairmanship Candidate said, he would give priority to security, education, farming, youth empowerment and road network among others.
In his explanation, Ajadi maintained that he would ensure that the people of Kajola Local Government sleep with their two eyes closed.
Adding that security would top his agenda, so that his efforts on other sectors would be better felt.
He spoke passionately on farming, as another area of importance which his government would pay close attention to, noting that consistent farmers-Herdsmen’s clashes have driven many away from farms.
He said he knew how to manage conflicts effectively, as skills, knowledge and experience which he had garnered over the years would be judiciously applied to bring both famers and Fulanis on same page.
The SDP Chairmanship Candidate said, education would continue to be a bedrock of every nation, maintaining that he would expedite actions and concerted efforts to ensure that every child is found in class.
He promised to ensure that bursary award is given to students and sees to payment of WAEC/NECO fees of over all best student in each public secondary school in Kajola Local Council.
Ajadi said, an idle hand remains the devil’s workshop, hinting that youth empowerment would be given considerable attention if elected at the poll.
He said not only but also close attention would be paid to deplorable condition of roads, across the metropolis making the local government.
Ajadi however noted that he who stands to achieve as a council chairman needs to have good working relationship with the career officers at the respective local governments.
He showered encomiums on Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola, 2023 SDP Senatorial Candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District, for all supports which he had rendered to him and party at large.
In his own submission, Hon. John Abiodun Ojedele, the party’s Vice Chairmanship Candidate who hails from Iwere-Oke in Ward 06(Ilaji-Oke/Iwere-Oke) described Hon. Waheed Ajadi as a figure and notable personality who knows every nook and cranny of the council area, and also someone who knows where the shoe pinches people at the grassroots.
Hon. Hezekiel Afin(Kajola SDP Chairman), Mr Raheem Shakiru in Ayetoro-Oke Ward 01 and and Mr Ojedele John Adewuyi in Iwere-Oke/Ilaji-Oke Ward06 are regarded as notable leaders of the party.
The trio reiterated their stance on all agenda which the party’s chairmanship candidate had unveiled, and pledged that all would be implemented if elected at the poll coming up on April 27.
They said, they would be ingrates if they fail to acknowledge the value and importance of Hon. Mulikat Adeola to the party across the local governments in Oyo State.
They said, she remained the pillar and strength which keeps the party moving, and however prayed God to continue to strengthen her to wax stronger.
