As Preparation is in top gear to ensure that the the former chairman, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. Barrister Gabriel Olajide Ojolowo is given a befitting burial, the legislative arm in the council area had penned farewell tributes, as the deceased would be committed to mother’s earth on Saturday, 20th April, 2024.
Barrister Olajide Ojolowo died on Saturday, 2nd March, 2024 at the age of 62 and his 2-day funeral arrangements would kick off on Friday, 19th April and ends with interment on Saturday, 20th April, 2024 respectively.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Ayegboyin Kehinde Olayemi, Leader of the House who represents Ward 08(Isemi-Ile/Imia/Ilua), described late Ojolowo as a notable public figure, and politician of note who understood the true meaning of good governance, while he was at the helms of affairs.
Hon. Amusat Taofeek Adebare, the Deputy Leader who represents Ward 09(Isia), said the deceased had charisma, competence and dynamism for leadership, and he demonstrated his qualities and all God’s given talents to lead Kajola Local Government well.
Also, Hon. Adediran Tajudeen Iyiola, Majority Leader of the House, who represents Ward 02(Ilero) characterised the late council boss as a foremost politician and thoroughbred democrat whose adherence to democratic principles was exemplary and laudable.
Hon. Kabiru Olagoke Gbanigbani described late Ojolowo as a Political Icon of Note whose mastery, understanding and practical engagement in politics would forever remain a reference to all and sundry.
Hon. Taiwo Mary, Minority Leader, who represents Ward 06(Ilaji-Oke/Iwere-Oke) said in her tribute that, late Okeho-born politician and lawyer led with passion, zeal and uncommon determination to develop Kajola Local Government.
In his own tribute, Hon. Idowu Rasak Abiodun, the Chairman House Committee on Works and Financial Secretary, Oke-Ogun Legislative Forum, who represents Ward 05(Ashi/Ipamo/Ijo)described him as an orator with good choice of words.
He added that late Ojolowo was a good communicator who had decent command of languages and expressions whenever he was to express himself.
Hon. Azeez Monjeed Olasunkanmi, the councillor who represents Ward 07(Isemi-Ile/Imoba/Oke-Ogun Ogbinte) where late Ojolowo hailed from, said a leader of uprightness, value and impeccable character has gone to the great beyond.
He affirmed that, he would greatly miss his political dexterity, wisdom, sound knowledge and other qualities which God had deposited in him.
Hon. Babatunde Rufus who represents Ward 01(Aiyetoro) said the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) had lost a figure and personality of note, whose contributions to the party can’t be forgotten in a hurry.
Hon. Kareem Issau, who represents Ward 03(Gbelekale) said his legal experience and sound knowledge he had acquired over the years were used to assist people and humanity in general.
Hon. Sangoleye Iyiola Abiodun, who represents Ward 10(Kajola) said, the ex council chairman lived a fulfilled life and left at an appointed time as predestined by God almighty, asking his family, members of PDP and entire people of Kajola Local Government to take solace in the fact that he came, saw and conquered.
Hon. Salam Onaolapo Mudasiru, who represents Ward 11(Gbonje/Olele) prayed God almighty to repose his soul and grant him eternal rest.
