The immediate past Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Hon. Jelili Adebare Oyinloye, has expressed his gratitude to the people of the council area for their support during his tenure, leading to its successful conclusion.
He specifically thanked the almighty Allah and the people for allowing him to serve as the council’s chairman, during which he was able to make significant contributions to various levels of development.
Hon. Oyinloye also extended his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, for the opportunity to serve as the Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government.
The Iwere-Ile-born Oyinloye commended all the political leaders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from ward to local and state levels.
He also appreciated the love and support shown by his wife; both immediate and extended family showed him to succeed during his serving period in the Council.
In a press statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Olagbenro Musiliu, on Saturday, Hon. Oyinloye said, “I wish to show appreciation to the entire people of Iwajowa Local Government Area for the trust bestowed on me to serve, starting from the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party from wards up to the state levels.
“Everyone I’ve worked with in Iwajowa is wonderful, including the Traditional Council of Obas and Chiefs, Career Officers, government security agencies, and locals. Religious leaders, including Muslims and Christians in Iwajowa, youths and women leaders, community leaders, and village heads.
“I want to thank the almighty Allah for all the life-touching projects and programs that were implemented during my tenure. Among others, IWLG got approval for the implementation of Bylaws as a significant achievement for governance in the council since its establishment in 1996.
“Bylaws provide a useful enforcement tool for Councils and can provide an effective way of responding to issues. They also empower the local government to manage public nuisances, such as animals in urban areas, and promote public health and safety, such as liquor ban areas.”
In conclusion, Hon. Oyinloye sought forgiveness from anyone he might have offended during his time in office, saying, “To err is human; to forgive is divine.”
“One cannot move without shaking the head. I’m human, and imperfections are part of human life. I seek forgiveness from anybody who feels offended at any level of my governance as the Executive Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government. I thank you again for giving me ample time to serve,” Hon. Oyinloye pleaded.
