The former Political Head, Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area(LCDA) in Iseyin Local Government,Area of Oyo State, Hon. Fasasi Raheem Ajibola popularly known as ‘FM’ has extended gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde over the privilege given, to serve the good people of Iseyin.
FM expressed appreciation, to the executive Governor of Oyo State, while giving his account of stewardship to the community stakeholders.
The unique occasion which occurred on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Oba Adeyeri’s Hall in Aseyin’s Palace had in attendance of glitz and glams among the community leaders, PDP stakeholders, party members and business tycoons respectively.
In his account of stewardship, FM who served as the Caretaker Chairman, Iseyin South LCDA between December, 2019 – April, 2021 and the Vice Chairman/Political Head(June, 2021 – May, 2024) revealed that his stay in office as the Caretaker Chairman, birthed notable feats which were empowerment to victims of challenges occasioned by heavy downpour, 20K each to twenty(20) business women, construction of nine(9) modern parks for commercial motorcyclists.
Also, distribution of palliatives to about 1000 people, provision of hand sanitisers, and awareness on need to curtail and cushion the spread and effect of COVID-19 then.
FM added that he dedicated every consecutive two months for implementation of physical projects, which include construction of 16 bridges at Gedu axis and Ilado-Sagbo area of Iseyin, while a constant month was meant for the empowerment of people.
On aspect of education and vocational training, FM hinted that he sponsored free jamb lessons, refunded students’ money paid for jamb forms and more than one hundred (100) beneficiaries benefited from training organized at Vocational Centre at Peller’s road in Iseyin.
On his resolve to make water available for all, he disclosed that seven(7) boreholes were dug for people’s use at strategic places, without limiting them to justification of Iseyin South LCDA.
On his assumption of office as the elected Vice Chairman and Political Head, FM maintained that the accrues from Infernal Generated Revenue(IGR) were used to employ the services of Engineers to level Yekete Hill that had long made the route difficult for motorcyclists and pedestrians to pass.
The ex Political Head, who gave his account of stewardship in extemporaneous form said he used his own running cost to sponsor free jamb lessons, made concerted efforts towards the building of 60 lockup shops at Oja-Agbe(Farmers’ Market) and moreover mapped out plan through which same Oja-Agbe would in no distant future wear new look via the counterpart fund.
He said he was instrumental to feasibility of TESCOM appointment to the ten(10) beneficiaries who scored above the bench marks.
Among people who confirmed what FM was able to achieve are Hon. Were Olowookere, Hon. Bayo Adeleke, Supervisory Councillor for Environment and Hon. Ibrahim Ismail Onile, the Supervisory Councillor for Youths & Sports.
People who also gave testimony about FM and his government are Comrade Busari Yunus Olaide, Comrade Waheed Sakiru Taiwo and Hon. Babajide Oniyo, who was represented by Comrade Sanda.
Also are Comrade Hammed Olabisi, Mrs Fatimoh Mojeed(Women Leader, Omituntun Group),Mr Mutiu Basiru, Ward 04 Youth Leader and Mr Tajudeen Olaide, Artisan President who all noted that FM’s achievements were more than what he enumerated.
They all described FM as a man with humility, focus, courage, experience and leadership qualities, who has good vision and mission for the development of Iseyin and its environs.
The epoch making occasion had in attendance of the representatives of Trade & Artisans, Three Millers, Iseyin Council of Societies(ICS), Iseyin Development Union(IDU), Iseyin Youth Development Forum(IYDF), Iseyin Assembly and Movement for Ekunle Development among others.
