The Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo State, Alhaji Olayide Abas has hosted members of the State’s Progressive Ex-Parliamentarians at Oke-Ado party secretariat in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State.
The Visit which was at the instance of familiarisation and congratulations on Chairman’s assumption of office, took place on Monday, 21st October, 2024.

The Ex-Parliamentarians reiterated that the vist, after the Chairman’s assumption of office was to familiarise and cheer him on an opportunity that was extended to him, after the demise of late Chairman, Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.
The group welcomed him to the office and however recognised and acknowledged his ability, progressive inclination and undiluted loyalty to make things happen positively in the progressive fold.
They tasked him to work assiduously and painstakingly on party issue and moreover expedite actions conscientiously on what would make the party regain the state come 2027.
The former honourable members hinted that, they are major stakeholders in the party, who have long been sidelined in the scheme of things in Oyo State APC, pleading the chairman to use his good office as an upright , just and fair progressive of long standing to correct alleged marginalisation.
The Ex-Parliamentarians noted that, they are in existence in the state and they shall give him the needed support to ensure his success.
They prayed God almighty for guide, guard, strength, wisdom and natural instinct to enhance his delivery on the mandate given to the acting chairman.
In his response, Alhaj Olayide Abas welcomed them to the party secretariat and however promised to work on every demand that was brought to his office.
He asked for unity, transparency, unflinching support and total cooperation that would make his new position functional, deliverable, effective and productive.
In his own submission, while giving the vote of thanks, the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Wale Sadare tasked them to be more visible, courageous, tenacious and active in the party activities and however promised to correct the previous lapses of non-recognitiom going forward.
